@sarahbrooks68@AhmedKhattabUK I point out that science requires literacy and numeracy skills and if their grade is lower than Eng and Maths they will look lazy.
@missdcox I see the logic of emails via an enquiries address but so often the emails forwarded to me are irrelevant or I can't help and the ones I would like to know about don't get passed on.
@ZJAyres I spent 20 years being told I was a hormonal, anxious and depressed woman. Now I know I was anxious because I have ADHD and tired (depressed) because I have fibromyalgia. I am significantly happier since being diagnosed, even more so when medicated.
@louie_jarvisPE@MrTs_NQTs No need for a CV for teaching jobs. More useful would be to look at the teacher standards and write a short paragraph about each one, or look at some current adverts and their application forms.
@2tubies I worked with an excellent head who I think avoided a lot of exclusions by treating students like human beings he respected. You could spot the 'naughty' kid who had forgotten their tie because they were wearing one of the head teachers spares.
@TeacherBusy E.g 2022 I knew my y7s had definitely studied rock formation because most of them came from primary schools in our trust and followed the same SOW KS1-3 we did. They all denied it until I opened up resources I knew they had seen. /2
@TeacherBusy Agree with the challenges of moving around a big building, lots of teachers with slightly different ways of working/expectations. I also think there are lots of things they can do but they don't match our request to an experience at primary. /1
@miss_colbourne Saw that earlier and thought the same. I don't know anything about the head and whether they have been effective or not, but even if they are similar to the worst member of SLT I have ever worked with, I still wouldn't want that to be published.
@imnotspartacus @TeacherBusy It's not new if you have teaching for 25 years. Different ways of organising work for different people, it could be 'new' in the sense of haven't done this particular method before.
Sharing these simple tricks is so helpful for people who haven't been around so long.
@missdcox Some of us just really enjoy teaching. I have never really wanted to be a middle or senior leader. Although at times I felt I should want to.
