We love our parent volunteers at Montclaire! Not only does Robin keep our students safe as they arrive each morning, she also reminds our community about the importance of our one-time donation drive. MPTO keeps our students engaged in TOSA lessons, STEM, art, music and more!
Sometimes you have to do some other things for awhile to remind yourself of what you love doing. I enjoyed my four years away, including a foray back in the corporate world and my time back in the classroom, but very excited to join a new school community!
@ArellanoTeach Congratulations on the new role! Your passion for kids shines thru and that’s the biggest key to success. Oh, and never forgetting what it’s like to be in the classroom. 👍🏻 Good luck!
@ChristinaNosek Yes! I am seeing a lot of people put time into virtual classroom mock ups and bitmojis and wonder if it might be better spent figuring out how to meaningfully meet with small groups daily.
@ChristinaNosek @Seesaw Why “have to use” still exists in education boggles my mind. “Have to be able to demonstrate” - that I can get behind. Brings back memories of second graders “have to do a dinosaur report.” We know how I felt about that!!! 😂
@wokeSTEMteacher I think you are asking the wrong question. Like students, adults develop skills at different times and rates.Let’s talk about the key skills + mindsets leaders need, then acknowledge that some develop those in roles and experiences that have nothing to do with years teaching.
@ChristinaNosek I make a video every day. I do not edit. I’ve had wrong links. Broken links. Awkward pauses. You name it. It’s all in there. And every day I tell them do what you can and we are ALL learning.
Remember when they said we need state tests & report cards because otherwise teachers & principals would slack off?
Well, testing & state report cards are canceled and all I see are teachers & principals working harder than ever before.
Let’s trust our professionals.
