@misswebber23 I couldn't agree more! In my classroom, I designate 20 minutes of the day to "playful learning time" right at the end of the day. It is the perfect ending to every school day.
I have been preparing plans for the first day of school. I like to read The Kissing Hand, and do an activity with my students where they put a handprint in a book and place a heart sticker inside of it. It is a great keepsake.
I learned what I have used about screencasting from class to do a cool activity for my Kindergarteners. I read a book to them titled, The Night Before Kindergarten, online and recorded my voice. I created a QR code for it, and will print it out on a card for easy access.
I found a fun idea to get my Kindergarteners excited about back to school! It is called "Ready Confetti." I have a poem and a little bag of confetti for them to put under their pillow the night before school.
Sesame Street Website is great for students to self-explore! There are a variety of education games and videos. They also have an art tab students can create on!
I love using Jack Hartmann videos during math time, either at the beginning or middle of our math lesson. He has videos for almost every topic we learn about in Kindergarten. This gets students out of their seat and moving!
One of my favorite lessons I teach in Kindergarten is "Growing Food." It is a reading lesson from Journeys. During this time, we learn about how food is produced, and make homemade bread starting by grinding wheat.
