@CMooreAnderson my copy has arrived 😊 Looking forwards to getting stuck into this so much. I am passing about sensemaking and meaning making, so I have high expectations which I am sure will be met 🧬
@DavidNautilus1 My A-level students ask for my lessons where I draw, question them and explain whenever there is a chance. I am at an Apple school and deliver on our Technology for Learning CPD strand. But sometimes nothing beats the pens and a big whiteboard.
I've co-authored an article with @dylanwiliam focusing on lethal mutations in education & how to avoid them.
An important read for schools/teachers that are embracing evidence based approaches.

@KJF239 We normally use horse blood but we now have some single use lancets so we are going to get the students to smear there own blood this time around.
A Level Biology peeps- how do you teach organelles/ cell ultrastructure to new Y12 students. I want to shake up how I teach it this year and move away from the slightly didactic way I’ve done it in the past!

The problem with today's report on education from the Tony Blair Institute is it reads like it could have been written in 1985.
It's promoting ideas that were the future, once.
And it doesn't even seem aware of genuinely cutting-edge ideas with transformative potential.
This is such sad news, but what a life to celebrate. Lovelock really pushed people to examine & explore what they thought, as well as inventing the electron capture detector, tech that is still essential today for monitoring ocean breathing. Bravo! https://t.co/gS89yQJgV4
@MrHerbertSci @chatbiology@cogscisci@ASEChat We then had active discussion in class around how and why these arteries can become blocked and the treatments available and how they work. I started with respiration retrieval so that the students recognise that the heart also needs a blood supply and the importance of this 2/2
@MrHerbertSci @chatbiology@cogscisci@ASEChat I teach OCR but did this slightly differently as I set a homework to make Cornell notes upon CHD and the advantages and disadvantages of different treatment options. I then dissected a heart for them and used dye to squirt into the coronary arteries to show location and size 1/2
Don't forget, we are offering 40% off all orders via https://t.co/TNMoYOc1ur as part of #worldbookday2022. Just use code WBD40 at the SHOPPING CART. That's 40% off any order of any quantity or title. Perfect time to stock up your CPD library.
