Computing science teachers of Scotland! Has anyone succeeded in buying Minecraft Education Edition licences for students?? According to Minecraft, there's a problem with GLOW Scotland accounts using the Microsoft Education Store. Ive been chasing this for weeks. Help!!
@MrdouglasCS@GlowScot We have a ps4 and an xbox both with minecraft. We are funded through @DigitalXtraFund for a gaming/coding club and have a budget for licenses as part of that. Checked with the council in advance but everyone assumed the actual purchase would be straightforward.
@MrdouglasCS@GlowScot We have a total of 5 or 6 raspberry pis. Hadn't actually thought about using minecraft on them. Will maybe investigate this as an option.
@MrdouglasCS@GlowScot It depends on the LA. WDC have licenses for teachers but not pupils. Logging in with Glow only gives pupils access to trial version.
@kiranjoza Not even my council seem to know what we have through GLOW. They've whacked me up to the highest level of access to no avail. The education store has the purchase button greyed out. I'm at a loss.
@l80pdn@FHSComputing@PlayCraftLearn@GlowScot At West Dunbartonshire, teachers have licenses through GLOW. But it the pupils. Theoretically, we should be able to purchase. I'm going to try GLOW central to see if there's someone there who can help.
