This week I had my third observation of my total four this semester. I introduced the Distance Formula during my lesson which went fairly well. It took a bit for me to prepare for the lesson because geometry is definitely not my specialty. #EDU310
My mentor teacher and I talked in depth about Evidence Based Grading. Have any of you been introduced to that way of grading at your placement? What type of grading system does your mentor teacher use? #EDU310
This week is the end of the quarter at my placement so the students used the class time to complete missing work so I was supporting many of the students during this time.
Had observation two of four this semester. I did my lesson in the two math classes. First class went great & then when I was observed during the second, I thought it was a disaster. There were only four students. One was sleeping & the other three wanted to do nothing. #EDU310
Had my first observation today. We played battleship to continue practicing how to plot points on a graph. At the end of class, they filled out an exit slip which really helped to assess what they are excelling at or what they may be struggling with #EDU310
We did math centers at my placement today to check the students skills. It was nice for me because I was able to be more involved by having my own groups and getting more one on one time with each of the students #EDU310
My placement is in a high school cross-categorical geometry class and I cannot math for the life of me. Trying to plan for my observation is becoming a struggle #EDU310
@MissTorkelSax Learning from your mentor teacher and learning how to be better is such a great motivator to be the best future teacher that you can be!
Second clinical today. I ran a welcome activity to get the students engaged because its almost impossible with high schoolers. They ended up being way more talkative than I thought which was GREAT. Two Truths One Lie is an awesome activity for all ages. I recommend it! #EDU310 π€ͺ
