Gave a First Thanksgiving lesson to 4 blocks of students. Felt more comfortable with each passing one. I had the students come up with things they were thankful for and unique items to their families that they could bring to the table. Everyone had fun were engaged🦃#EDU310

Should be finishing up my required hours this week. Gonna be little sad to not see the students and my mentor teacher anymore. Moving on to the next experience. #EDU310

@MsCarvis_SpEd My mentor teacher does something similar to that, usually on open ended responses. If she tracks that the student has put in the work up to the assessment, she will be more lenient or offer a retake. If the student clearly hasn't done the work then no retake or leniency #EDU310

Spent the whole school day at a museum with the students! Super fun and interactive scavenger hunt involved throughout our time there. They got really excited when some of the exhibits related to what they have learned in class this year! Also go to be on an old bike #EDU310

@PlotnerArt Those look really cool and I bet the students had a great time with them! I would love to incorporate the more artistic sides of the students in my class. Art both in and outside the classroom is fun and gets the creativity juices flowing #EDU310

@dziekanskiemma That is so adorable!! I hope they were all in costume. Just getting the kids up and moving for something fun like that would make my day. My students are too cool to dress up for the holiday. 🎃#EDU310

First observation today (in pirate costume)! I already work with the students a decent amount when I can; however we had to do a complete turn around on the lesson because the kiddos didn't do so hot on their reading comprehention and note taking. Back at it next time #EDU310

I was asked this past week to create some assignments and a unit organizers for this upcoming unit in my placement class. Was pretty challenging creating them for the grade I'm assigned but I feel proud of the work I put in. #EDU310

Was at my placement for the full school day today. That means I got to join some teachers in the teachers' lounge. I assume it is normal for them to heavily complain about certain students and sometimes the childish behaviors that they get from their parents. 🐸🍵 #EDU310

Today was a good day for text analyzation with the students! I was working with one bright student who was diving deeper into the text than required. We then got into larger groups and there was genuine discussion between them about the text and what each part means. :) #EDU310

Went on a field trip for my placement today! I was very excited, not just because it was a field trip but because I could observe my mentor teacher and students outside of the classroom setting. It was a good experience and I hope the children got something out of it. #EDU310

@KZAndre4 That is pretty awesome that you guys are going over safety and emergency procedures!! Everyone should have at least the very basics of knowledge so that they can help in whatever way they can. Get CPR certified folks! #EDU310

My mentor students are learning is idea of outline/note taking. Some of them just rewrite the book, others write single words. A nice middle ground to where they will remember the concepts and materials. I gave them an i.e. and some seem to pick it up pretty well 😁 #EDU310

@missjchilly Definitely agree; we just went through active shooter information today and a student made a great suggestion about how to approach one of the steps. Hopefully it will be implemented in the informational training in the future :) #EDU310

A couple of placement days in and I am feeling comfortable with the students already. My teacher has a great way of tracking their test and assignment progress electronically, and she can see where improvements need to be made based on the patterns observed; pretty cool! #EDU310
