What’s the purpose of curriculum documents at your school? Is it all about the product, or is value placed on the process of how unit plans are produced?

These four statements affirm a lot of the things I've implemented in my teaching practice, and a lot of the things I've faced push-back back about. This is useful support when explaining/justifying my approach.
Join me to unpack how you can align ATL skills with your subjects’ learning goals and discuss practical strategies for embedding the ATL skills into learning experiences.

@derekbruff I'm a math teacher and that's one of the math facts that I can't for the life of me remember (8*7=56 is another). My ability to compose/decompose numbers is how I get around that gap, and that skill is much more broadly applicable than having times tables memorized.
@davidwees I'm facilitating a virtual workshop this weekend and I'm loving the option to randomly assign breakout groups... my introvert self takes comfort in not putting participants in the awkward position of inviting themselves into a group.
@Chris_W_Horan @_PhilipRoberts @NatErbes_MYP @Robert_acs@MalNicolson We mapped the skill indicators. It was a bit more work to set up, but since many indicators match stands in the subject-specific objectives, it was easier to make connections to was already being addressed in classes.
@Chris_W_Horan @NatErbes_MYP @Robert_acs@MalNicolson We started out by having teachers selecting the skills that they were already developing in their units and in the advisory program. Buy-in was better when teachers saw ATL planning as something that was already part of their practice, rather than an additional task.

Looking for recommendations for classroom smart TVs. Students and teachers will need to cast from Macs, PCs and tablets. We will be using Google Education Workspace.
Thanks in advance!

There are so many demands of teachers' time and attention that don't support or enrich student learning... but if we can eliminate some of those tasks, we can free up time for the things that really matter.
So much of this episode resonates with me! I have been really lucky to work in schools with small classes and generous prep time to allow for many of these approaches and they really are worth it.

Paraphrase from @JulieHStern : Movement and nature are our most under-tapped resources in learning, and they're completely free!
This is idea is going to stick with me for a while!

This is not specifically about #ibmyp, but there are some really great examples of how to use objectives and criteria to guide instruction, and how to involve students in developing task-specific clarifications.

“Many people would rather believe that hard work and being really good at what you do could outperform bias, and that's a lie. No matter how good you are, if we live in discriminatory system, that discrimination will raise its head"
