Today was my first day substitute teaching in WCPSS! And it just so happened to be at my ol' stomping grounds at Rand Road Elementary--it was good to be home. I'm thankful for this learning opportunity and I'm excited for more!
@MsCrist_Chem@NCStateCED@CCMMSRedwolves We had about 8 students in the room ranging from 6th to 8th grade! The classroom changes every period of everyday--you really never know who might be in there
It was a privilege and delight for my PLT from @NCStateCED to collaborate with @CCMMSredwolves this semester. I learned so much from my placement in the ISS classroom and hope to do more SEL work in the future after completing our workshop! #ED204SLP
@MsLeeintheLab A mini-worksheet to close out your workshop is so good for tying up any loose strings and for getting feedback--what a great idea. I have to agree with their feedback; hands-on really helps visualize these conceptual principles.
@MrJones_Teaches @MsLeeintheLab @MariaMReyes0513 This is a fantastic lesson! I really appreciate you sharing each of the 3 demonstrations you used. The students are going to remember those whenever they see "potential" and "kinetic" energy in their future physics and chemistry classes. π§ͺπ
@maddysmath@FosterMissi That's how you know it was a good lesson--so encouraging to hear! You all hit the nail on the head with engaging the students in math. I really like how you individualized the Bingo cards--is there a website/tool you used to randomize the board?
@msemersongrace I can hear the 'poetry snaps' now--music to my ears. This is awesome. How come I never knew about Canva presentations? I don't think I'll ever go back to using Google Slides! The animation is so engaging.
@miss_morgan_nc This is so creative! Bingo can be used in every classroom; it can be adapted for a variety of ages and subjects. I'll definitely be using it in my science room one day--thanks for sharing!
Iβm thankful for the handful of weeks I was able to spend working with students. I learned that students are willing to be honest when they feel safe and know the honesty is reciprocated--something I will certainly carry with me into my future years of teaching.
@CCMMSRedwolves Thankful to have our partnership with@NCStateCED #ED204! Having these future teachers here to support my students with work and self reflection is definitely beneficial for both! My students are sharing so much working one-on-one. #Redwolves
For all my science teachers out there, do you have any suggestions for summer experiences I can explore in while in college that will equip me to prepare hands-on activities and labs for my students? #ED204chat Thanks! π§ͺπ»π§βπ«
