kids go by different names literally all the time- middle names, last names, nick names, one year I even had a kid who wanted to go by his “rapper” name. teachers go along with it to build connections and respect with the students. why is this any different?!

Here’s the issue with “school choice.” It doesn’t help poor or disabled children move to a better school bc private schools are not required to accept them. The school gets to choose who they accept, not the parent.
