@atechclassroom A2: That is very challenging. Hopefully there are courses offered at your community college or local library that could help these adult students how to utilize these tools. I remember helping my mom use the computer when I was younger. #EdTechUSFMets
@kmaniscicd99 A3: I agree with you completely! Our school has been having period by period meetings during our plan period as optional professional development sessions on tech tools. Hopefully you can inspire your colleagues to try tech out in the classroom! #EdTechUSFMets
@khjths A5:I think that a lack of promotion of tech courses and skills in the schools, especially at the high school level, in the past (when I was in h.s.) led to the Tech Skills Gap. I feel that schools are now reacting by promoting these skills. Better late than never. #EdTechUSFMets
@khjths A2: I feel that students would not get the opportunity to investigate different career paths that they might enjoy that involve technology such as coding or web design. #EdTechUSFMets
A1: Hi everyone. My name is Lisa Vondrak and a tool that I recently used in my classroom was Quizizz as a replacement for Kahoot so that students can work at their own pace. #edtechusfmets
@AbbyCameron131 I agree! Even such a quick recording in "The Well" brought me to a completely different place. Plus you can expose students to cultures of their peers. #edtechusf677
@atcflo I completely agree! It is always refreshing to hear from students who do not frequently participate in class, and I think that audio recordings are easy ways to get those students involved.
"The Well" would be a great resource for students to experience and reflect on how their lives compare to other children's around the world #edtechusf677
Listening to "The Well" allowed me to create the imagery of the setting of the African village in my mind as the reader was describing it #edtechusf677
This semester I would like my EL students to record themselves speaking and reflect upon their growth at the end of the year. It really is powerful to see how much progress my students make in language acquisition in such a short time! #edtechusf677
