Everything changed for me when I started asking, "Does my grading system instill fear or hope?"

That's honestly all it took.

My job is not to terrify kids of failure. My job is to help students see their potential and growth.

[Dwayne Reed @TeachMrReed]

Don’t, “I have a dream” your students later this month if you’re not willing to discuss the nightmares many of them are living through today.

Gburg Spirit Week is this week! Show your Trojan Pride by sharing a pic of yourself on social media representing the Spirit Days. Start off the week wearing your favorite hoody tomorrow! ⁦@GHSSGAKERES⁩

PLEASE consider how you’re posting to Google Classroom.

One student I checked in with has received 300+ emails in 7 class days.

And please show students how to adjust their Classroom notifications.

Walk them through it. They’ll appreciate your help.

What do you do when you can’t meet in person? You meet Bitmoji style. Awesome idea @GburgMath

The thing that’s frustrating about this is that they’re implying we’re not working when we’re remote. We’re still working full time. In fact, most teachers I know have MORE on their plate teaching remotely. We’re not sitting at home eating bon bons.

I miss Obama, and I miss her husband too. #DemConvention

[Kamala Harris @KamalaHarris]

.@JoeBiden can unify the American people because he's spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he'll build an America that lives up to our ideals.

I'm honored to join him as our party's nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.

Trojans - do you need a chrome book or MiFi device for virtual learning this fall? If so, please go down to 45 W. Gude Drive, in Rockville (3 miles from GHS) any day of the week, Mon-Fri (from 10a-12p), and get the device you need!

[Christopher Emdin @chrisemdin]

My essay in @TheAtlantic this week is about making #GoodTrouble in education https://t.co/KZa7V6RjuK #GoodTroubleEdu #HipHopEd

[Christopher Emdin @chrisemdin]

We teach students before curriculum. We reach souls before standards. We teach character before content. In that order or its not really teaching at all #HipHopEd #GoodTroubleEdu

[Emily Murdock @murdock_ms]

Open call: students, what do you need or want from teachers during distance learning this fall?

I see a lot of teachers saying what they know students need in the fall, but I don't feel like I know. I really want to know what my kids feel they need from me more than anything.

[Cary Dimmick @GburgPrincipal]

Community Update: MCPS will be solely virtual (on-line) learning the 1st semester. GHS will be rolling out more information throughout the summer. https://t.co/czLHJHxS5a
