@vtaurizano@terricabrera147 @RobertwRuncie @browardschools We’ve been home because it’s not safe for us or the students. The decision to send us back is based purely on funding and not at all because it is now safe. We are being forced back- teach in school or take unpaid leave, that’s not a choice-it’s an ultimatum.
and family problems, transporting them, feeding them, etc. Not paying us until our season starts (which is unknown if it even WILL start) is a huge slap in the face. We do way more than asked for the pennies we get paid in the first place.
Coaches always have a place to go. As it goes, coaches in Broward County are already some of the lowest paid. I, along with all of the coaches I know, work year round with my athletes; not only for the sport and conditioning but am fielding phone calls about breakups, friend
.@lorialhadeff upset that coaches aren't being paid since sports are on hiatus. She said she fears they will leave & go elsewhere. @Robertwruncie said there's nowhere for them to go to coach right now. District plans to pay them whenever delayed sports season starts, he said.
