You don’t give your child a cigarette or alcohol. Why are you giving them unrestricted access to cell phones, gaming devices and other technology? You can no longer say you don’t know how dangerous it is. There is simply no excuse.
Believe your child.
The kids are not okay in #OntEd.
We deserve a government that will not prioritize booze over education and healthcare.

SORticle #6: Strengthening the Mind’s Eye, by Virginia Wise Berninger
This article was first introduced to me in 2019 during my Orton-Gillingham training. I now share it with teachers in my Emergent Literacy course at VIU and in all of my workshops on the Science of Writing. A short article worth reading.

#CovidIsNotOver This is my 15th semester teaching RN and NP students about Covid 19 pathophysiology. Not a lot has changed except for how much damage we now know the virus causes. It still baffles me that people don’t know it’s airborne, don’t know the risks. 1
@MikeJToronto@Garnet_2203 Nutrition for learning programs have been drastically cut in Ontario schools. Kids who relied on this ministry funded program to not go hungry are going without food daily now.
@gator_gum So sad the misunderstanding. Saying the food is Halal is so families know they can eat it. It’s also like saying it’s nut free—that ingredients have been checked. In this case, no pork on the menu. People really worked up about something that doesn’t affect them.

Every parent and teacher should be required to read these two books.
I think these two important and essential books should be at the top of every bestseller list. I highly recommend them to everyone.
One lesson from both the books:
