Please note that they wouldn't know what Guruvar is is far from truth.
We have the tradition of panchānga (tithi-vāra-nakshatra-yoga-karaṇa) as part of the vaidika way of life. Here vāra means the weekday.
By the way, if you time-traveled to the time of Rigveda and told them about the “no meat Guruvar” rule, they’d look at you bewildered. Not only because they wouldn’t know why but also because they wouldn’t know what “Guruvar” (or even week) is.

@shrutammegopaya This tendency is there in Telugu too. Vowels a/i/u may appear.
yatnaH - yatnamu / yatanamu
sūryaH - sūryuḍu / sūrīḍu
candraH - candruḍu / canduruḍu
I didn't study Tamizh as much, so not sure of other vowels.
To me, #SmtSJanaki is the immortal singer of Sompaina Manasutho (by the Saint in Ahiri), with a beautiful voice that competes with Nadaswaram. May this Janaki reach the Lotus Feet of Sri Rama.
