On 12.06.2026, scientists from CMERTI, MESSO, CSB Regional Office, and State DoS visited P3 Unit, Rompara, Meghalaya. Discussions focused on promoting Muga culture, addressing climatic and soil-related challenges, and strategies to strengthen farmer participation.
On 12.06.2026, Smt. Brundha, Scientist-B, CMERTI, Jorhat visited CSB–MESSO, P3 Unit, Kobulong, Nagaland for silkworm disease monitoring. Field visits were conducted, samples were collected, and examinations were carried out to assess the health status of the ongoing crop.
On 12.06.2026, a Scientist from P3 Unit, Narayanpur visited Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, to assess the potential for cooler-zone Muga rearing. Existing host plant plantations, strong farmer interest, and support from the DoS highlighted promising prospects for Muga culture.
On 11.06.2026, the CSB–MESSO P4 Unit, Tura team visited the Jengjal area for seed crop rearing inspection. Larvae in most fields, including Dakopgre Farm, larvae found healthy. Climatic fluctuations, with heavy rainfall followed by strong sunshine, were observed as a concern.
On 10.06.2026, a Scientist from CSB–MESSO, P3 Unit, Pailapool visited Jamalpur and French Nagar. At Jamalpur, larval samples collected for disease examination. At French Nagar, cocoon harvesting was monitored, and farmers were advised to follow recommended management practices.
सीड प्रोडक्शन सेंटर (मूगा), कालियाबाड़ी में त्रैमासिक हिन्दी बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में राजभाषा हिन्दी के कार्यान्वयन की प्रगति की समीक्षा की गई तथा कार्यालयीन कार्यों, पत्राचार एवं अभिलेखों में हिन्दी के अधिकाधिक प्रयोग पर बल दिया गया।
On 10.06.2026, a field visit was conducted to an ASR field where mature silkworm collection was in progress. Cocooning arrangements were inspected, and necessary technical guidance was provided to the farmer for proper crop management and quality cocoon production.
On 10.06.2026, twenty-five farmers from the ATMA group, Zunheboto, Nagaland visited CSB–MESSO, P3 Unit, Kobulong on an exposure tour. The visit provided valuable insights into Muga sericulture practices, and technical pamphlets were distributed to support knowledge enhancement.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam and the EU Delegation visited the CSB Pavilion during the Indo–EU Summit at Guwahati on 9 June 2026. The interaction was highly fruitful, providing an excellent platform to showcase CSB initiatives and explore opportunities for collaboration
On 06.06.2026, a Scientist-B from CSB–MESSO, P3 Unit, Narayanpur visited a private graineur farm at Bihpuria, Lakhimpur. The silkworms were observed and larval samples were collected for disease inspection. Necessary guidance was provided on scientific rearing management.
CSB-MESSO celebrated World Environment Day 2026. Scientists, staff members, and farm labourers participated in tree plantation, environmental awareness, and cleanliness drives, reaffirming their commitment to a greener, cleaner, and sustainable future. 🌍🌿
On 04.06.2026, CSB–MESSO, P3 Unit, Kobulong conducted field visit to Muga rearing farms at Chuchuyimlang Village, Mokokchung Nagaland. Rearers were found following good rearing practices. Active participation of women in Muga culture was noted, and a good crop yield is expected.
On 03.06.2026, Dr. Naresh Babu, Joint Secretary (Technical), CSB, visited CSB–MESSO, EBSF Topatoli and reviewed the progress of the SERI Ecotourism Centre. The ongoing developmental activities were inspected, and the team’s efforts in developing the centre were appreciated.
On 02.06.2026, a Scientist-B from SSPC, Kaliabari conducted field visits to Muga rearing sites at Malangkona. Due to high temperatures, mortality was observed in the crop; however, some worms have reached the final instar stage and mature worm collection is expected shortly.
On 01.06.2026, scientists from CSB–MESSO visited the DoS, Agia, Goalpara, Assam. The ongoing crop was observed. Discussions were held with officials on scientific crop management and precautionary measures to ensure successful rearing during the upcoming stages.
On 01.06.2026, Scientists from CSB-MESSO, participated in a discussion programme at All India Radio (Akashvani Guwahati) on “Challenges Faced by the Silk Industry Due to Climate Change” in the local language, along with officials from the DoS Assam.
On 28.05.2026, under the Silk Samagra II Scheme, essential silkworm rearing inputs were distributed to ASRs of Miapara village under P3 Unit, Rompara. Scientists from P3 Rompara and P4 Mendipathar advised the beneficiaries to undertake forthcoming muga rearing strictly as per SoP
On 27.05.2026, Scientist-B, CSB–MESSO P3 Unit, Nongpoh visited ASRs’ fields and inspected the ongoing Baisakhi Muga rearing. Interaction was also held with the rearers regarding crop condition and rearing practices.

On 25.05.2026, Dr. B. N. Sarkar, Scientist-D, CSB–MESSO and Shri Mahasankar Majumdar, Scientist-C, visited P3 Unit, Rompara. Ongoing grainage activities were reviewed and guidance was provided on SOP-based quality Muga DFL production and strengthening of Unit activities.
