They talk of third term, vision 2030 and 2028 elections when the nation is at knees like this? The new dispensation has failed. Zimbabwe needs urgent reforms. We need a new government that will deliver electricity, water and food immediately.
ZANU PF must go.
🟣DAY 56.
Today marks 8 full weeks since that horrific Sunday when any imagination of the right to free association, free assembly, free expression and privacy were torn to shreds by the State in an unprecedented invasion of the home of a former Parliamentarian and Senate representative.
His crime was to allow young people to use his home to have a braai commemorating the Soweto Uprising. The punishment was the unlawful tear-gassing of his private residence which was stormed by multiple water canons and armed police who beat and tortured his guests to a pulp. They had no arrests or search warrants. Public order laws do not apply because it was not a public meeting. No law says one must seek police permission to host a private barbecue at home.
The continued unconstitutional detention without trial of Senator @JamesonTimba and the #Avondale78 is a shameless example of the continued weaponisation of the legal system by ZANU PF to silence opponents. It’s not a crime to allow young people to have a private barbecue at your private residence to commemorate the Soweto Uprising.
Bail is a constitutional entitlement. They have not committed any crime but even if they had, they’d be entitled to the presumption of innocence and to be tried while residing at home.
Freedom of assembly, freedom of expression, freedom of conscience and the right to liberty are constitutionally-protected.
We must all speak out against this affront to our Constitution. We’ve seen this script over and over and it’s the best evidence of a regime that’s declared war on its people.
Is this the liberation that our forefathers and mothers died for? Why use colonial tactics against the very people for whom a war of freedom was fought? Why deem any person who disagrees a “dissident”?
The jailed young people should be in work, studying or making a living for their families yet they’re caged up in intolerable conditions because those at the top are afraid of shadows. Everyone of these political prisoners is innocent.
Every progressive Zimbabwean has a duty to speak out until they’re freed.

This is how incompetent, pathetic, and unprofessional the Zimbabwean police have become under Zimbabwean tyrant Emmerson Mnangagwa.
A police officer went to court to lie, claiming he had overwhelming evidence that Namatai Kwekweza was demonstrating on June 27 in Zimbabwe.
Yet flight records show she was in South Africa and only returned to Zimbabwe on June 28.
Because the magistrate is also unprofessional and a political project of the regime, they let it go and she remains in jail without bail.
They hid Namatai’s passport so it couldn’t be used after taking it from her when they abducted her from the plane at Robert Mugabe International Airport.
This situation makes any reasonable person angry.
Mnangagwa is nothing more than a corrupt thug who runs a criminal network that has looted Zimbabwe dry!
It is sickening and tragic that a country which used to be a leader in many areas has been reduced to this by this thug and his family and corrupt friends.
The apparent manipulation of evidence, disregard for due process, and lack of professionalism displayed by the Zimbabwean police and judiciary in Namatai Kwekweza's case are what Zimbabweans are subjected to daily.
These actions not only violate Namatai’s rights as an individual but also undermine the integrity of the country’s justice system, which died a long time ago under the illegally appointed Chief Justice Luke Malaba, who is a total disgrace to the legal fraternity.
The fact that the police officer lied in court and the magistrate failed to address the contradictory evidence highlights the extent to which the judiciary has been totally compromised and politicised under Mnangagwa's illegitimate rule.
The confiscation of Namatai's passport and the attempt to conceal it further demonstrate the lengths to which the regime will go to silence dissent and maintain control.
So sad!!!
🟣These are the last photos of @namataik_ taken shortly after she was unlawfully ejected from a flight she had boarded at Harare International Airport. Her whereabouts are currently unknown. @ZLHRLawyers has raised concerns about her safety and whereabouts.
Spread the word.
