Joining the rest of well-meaning Ugandans to demand for the urgent release of Counsel Erias Lukwago, whom we understand was today rushed from jail to Mulago Hospital in very critical condition. We owe ourselves a country where no amount of political disagreement is greater than citizens' right to life and human dignity; a country where no citizen is subjected to sham judicial processes just because they oppose those in power! #FreeEriasLukwago #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners
"Chairman, a country without reserves is not sovereign. The potential of this Bill to destabilize Uganda’s balance of payments is our primary concern as a central bank. For example, last financial year the overall balance of payment surplus was USD 1.5 billion. That’s how we were able to increase our reserve coverage by USD 1.5 billion. Today as we speak our reserves are close to USD 6 billion. Why? Because these inflows have been coming in. The moment you tamper with these inflows here, we risk running down our reserves, and that is economic disaster for a country.” Governor Atingi-Ego on the Protection of Sovereignty Bill 2026 in an appearance before Parliament today.
It was not just us that opposed the sovereignty bill, the BOU Governor Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego noted on April 28th 2026 that; “the law will lead to a substantial depreciation of the Ugandan currency.”
On the other hand, fuel prices are skyrocketing, driving up the cost of essential commodities!

What this leaked video of a soldier checking Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi's blood pressure while under incomunicado detention proves is how institutionalised the system of torture in Uganda is. All comrades who have been to those torture chambers will tell you that after being brutalised, the system then sends in other soldiers who claim to be medical doctors to check on you and determine whether you're medically fit to take in more beatings! They torture you, treat you and torture you again! At times these 'doctors' come in when victims are about to be released or taken to court. In such cases they inject victims with unknown substances to quickly reduce swellings before victims appear in public. Then there are those whom they send to speak to victims and convince them to abandon the struggle. At times such operatives are also detained so that they come in as your fellow captives, but the mission is to compromise some unsuspecting persons.
In all, I am glad that the stories so many Ugandans have narrated in the past are now getting backed by video evidence. I encourage all patriotic Ugandans to continue using their cameras to expose the madness, the crimes, the rot. There will be accountability for the crimes being committed against our people!
This video is deeply disturbing. #SamMugumya appears extremely weak, struggling to walk, while under military guard.
President @KagutaMuseveni, produce him before court. Release him. Ensure he receives proper medical care. Investigate the torture he has suffered and hold those responsible to account.
What if this were your son?
Here is a letter which Lt. Mabonga Herbert Matanda wrote to Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi while he was in that torture chamber, where he spent 19 days. He passed on the original letter to him, but took a picture of it, which he released yesterday.
Mabonga represents thousands of senior, mid-level and junior officers in all departments of UPDF, police and intelligence services who vehemently oppose the criminal system but are held captive and cannot speak out. The only difference is that Mabonga had the courage to speak out. We have long told the people of Uganda that each time we're arrested or abducted, these officers will approach us and tell us how they're more disgusted by the system than most people can imagine.
Those who agree with the system and its atrocities are a very small fraction who are privileged and benefit from the pervasive corruption and nepotism within the forces. I remain hopeful that one day, the patriotic officers will have enough courage to stand with the oppressed people of Uganda and live true to their oath to pay allegiance to the nation of Uganda and not the falling regime of blood and national shame. UGANDA WILL BE FREE!
Serious concerns have been raised regarding the safety and whereabouts of 25-year-old law student and human rights activist Praise Aloikin Opoloje, who was allegedly abducted from Namungoona Police Station on Saturday, September 26, by armed security officers.

Since school resumes tomorrow, today we spent some time with the children, spouses and parents of our comrades who are still missing, those in detention and those killed over the past years. We shared with these families some scholastic materials, and a contribution towards school fees. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who always contribute to the welfare of these families.

The events of these past days confirm one timeless truth - no one can escape the effects of impunity and lawlessness.
On Thursday night, a young, outspoken NRM apologist, Ivan Mwijukye, was intercepted by regime operatives in Mpigi while travelling by bus from Mbarara. He was abducted, and his whereabouts remain unknown - except that Museveni’s brutal son posted his picture on handcuffs!
Today, armed men in plainclothes brazenly stormed Radio Simba studios in Kampala and dragged Charles Rwomushana out of a live broadcast. His whereabouts remain unknown! (They join Matthew Bagonza, another NRM supporter who was abducted over a week ago and remains missing.)
Both men have always mocked and justified the brutal repression, torture, and enforced disappearances of our people. They have always victimised the victims of brutality in their public commentary.
But at this moment, when the criminal regime turns the machine of terror against them, we must take the higher moral ground. Our struggle is not for selective justice or personal vengeance. It is for the rule of law and the constitutional rights of every single Ugandan.
We unequivocally condemn these abductions and call for the release of these citizens. We know so well that Ivan's crime was questioning Museveni’s son's tribal bigotry, and Rwomushana's crime was comparing him to the Biblical prodigal son.
We must not stand by and condone this ridiculous clampdown on free expression. These criminals' intention is to silence everyone, but they are terrible students of history. Seeking to silence a nation through terror never wins in the end.
What more? I hope those who are still massaging the egos of these criminals can learn a few lessons and apply some breaks to their sycophancy. It is not hard to predict what awaits them, unless they work with everyone else to restore sanity and put an end to this madness.
Our Secretary for Mobilization Habib Buwembo, former prisoners, and other comrades have joined ex political prisoner Kato Umar in Buduuda for the duwa prayers for his deceased child and mother, who both died while he was condemned at Kitalya prison for six years.
Comrade Kato underwent immense agony and psychological trauma upon learning about the demise of his beloved family members, whom he could not unfortunately be permitted to bury, as he faced off with trumped up charges of ‘terrorism’! Grateful to all comrades who have stood with, and comforted these former political prisoners as they reconcile with their respective families, friends and communities.

After dark, Dr @kizzabesigye1 was moved from Luzira Prison to JCRC hospital today.
He is still very weak. He struggles to walk, speak, write or even hold anything steadily.
I am asking for one thing - let me bring him home to Geneva for proper medical care, surrounded by his family.
He has been arrested more than 50 times. He has faced case after case. He has never run away from justice.
Why drag a sick man from place to place? Why deny him the care of his family? Why force a trial on a man too ill to defend himself?
He needs care, not cruelty.
This is not justice. It is persecution.

At our headquarters in Makerere Kavule this afternoon, we have addressed the nation on a range of issues. We have made it clear that we shall not field a candidate in the forthcoming byelection in Adjumani where we have resolved to support Tandrupasi Patrick who is now an independent, but previously was an FDC candidate.
We have also informed the nation that our lawyers have been briefed about cases in several courts around the country that the regime plans to slap on our president H.E Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert. We have been reliably informed that these are electoral cases that the regime intends to fabricate in contradiction with their earlier statements that they won’t prosecute our president. We have however written to the DPP to consult on the status of the investigations into atrocities committed against our president during campaigns for instance the murders in Butambala, the incident in Gulu and the unexplained raid on our president’s home in Magere after the polls.
We also appealed to the regime to refrain from applying coercive methods while rallying the public to participate in patriotic activities like the mandatory sanitation drive.

You belong to the jailhouse! You masterminded theft of hundreds of millions of tax payer’s money at the expense of the freedom of those you used to execute your bogus missions and you’re here jazzing?
Don’t you feel pity for Obore, Rajab Kaaya and others?
Shameless thug!
According to this report by experts from Mulago Hospital that is circulating online, Dr. Besigye is still unable to talk or write since he collapsed in court over 3 weeks ago. Despite receiving the report, and in Dr. Besigye's continued absence, the presiding Judge Baguma Emmanuel insisted on hearing testimony from the regime's mercenary-witnesses against a man who is clearly unfit to stand trial!
The regime is determined to fulfill its promise that Dr. Besigye will only leave prison in a coffin, and Baguma is more than eager to facilitate his execution! With this brazen regime capture of the institutions supposed to protect justice, the responsibility falls on all of us as citizens to CONFRONT and REJECT the injustice using every lawful means at our disposal.
Something I have noticed is that many of us, especially in my generation, have been made to believe that we are young and that we have time to achieve the things we want to achieve. That we should ‘relax’ and enjoy our youth.
I cannot stress how wrong this idea is.
Although it is good to relax and enjoy yourself (at any age), it is also important to consider how fast time flies.
Yesterday I was 18, today I am 21, tomorrow I will be 30.
How much will I have achieved during that time?
How much will I have benefited society by the time I am thirty?
What if I die tomorrow?
These questions should motivate you as they motivated me to strive hard to achieve your goals as soon as you can, not forgetting to do it well (not perfectly) and to take some breaks along the way.
I wish you all luck as we approach this week. Cheers!
