It is becoming clear that Afghanistan is fast becoming a hub of various terrorist organisations, and if not preempted now, it may cause another 9/11 disaster anywhere in the world. It is not the time to indulge in one-upmanship in underscoring one’s point of view, but try to listen to the sane advice coming from the immediate neighbours of Afghanistan.

The recently held Tehran meeting of senior officials from Afghanistan's immediate neighbours and Russia was meant to address this danger and offer assistance to Afghanistan. However, the Afghan Taliban regime withdrew from the meeting at the last moment, missing a rare opportunity to be part of the regional consensus to tackle terrorism.

Please make no mistake, terrorist groups such as TTP, ISKP, ETIM, Al-Qaeda, AMU, etc., are scheming to spring a surprise at the time of their choosing. There is no room for complacency or denial of the dangers lurking in the shadows.

This is a 'kill the economy'-'kill livelihoods' budget. Increase in defence allocation is unfortunate. Combat expenditure needs should have been met out of non-combat allocations. Relief measures will marginally benefit at most 20% of the population; bottom 40% will be crushed.

Vast majority of Indians&Pakistanis are poor. How can two poor people be enemies ? Rather they shud join hands&fight against their common enemies viz poverty,unemployment,hunger,price rise,lack of proper healthcare&good education.
It is only our enemies in foreign countries who are making us fight each other, like a madaari who is making two monkeys fight ( as we did in the recent 4 day conflict ). They are afraid if we unite, the Indian subcontinent will emerge as a modern industrial giant, like China, and a big rival to Western industries, which will not be able to face our competition, as we have cheap labour, and so can undersell the Western industries. The latter will then collapse, throwing millions out of employment
But we must become a modern industrial giant if we hope to escape from the great socio-economic evils mentioned above, which have plagued us for centuries.
Thus our interest and that of the developed countries is in direct conflict

شمالی وزیرستان میر علی کی یہ فوٹیج دیکھ کر مجھے خدیجہ بی بی یاد آگئی جس سے میری ملاقات بکا خیل کے مقام پر اس وقت ہوئی جب ضرب عضب کے شروع ہونے کے بعد میں شمالی وزیرستان سے آنے والے آئی ڈی پیز کی کوریج کر رہی تھی کہ سڑک پر چادر میں لپٹی ایک خاتون گائے کی رسی ہاتھ پکڑے وزیرستان سے بنوں کی طرف جانے والی روڈ پر جاتی نظر آئی ۔میں نے اس کے پاس جا کر اُس سے پوچھا کہ کہاں سے آرہی ہیں اپ اور باقی گھر والے کہاں ہیں تو اُس نے بتایا کہ میں میر علی سے آرہی ہوں اور باقی گھر والے ٹرک پر بنوں چلے گئے لیکن ٹرک میں جگہ نہیں تھی تو میں اپنی گائے کو پیدل لے کر جا رہی ہوں ۔میں نے حیران ہو کر پوچھا گائے کے لئے آپ میر علی سے پیدل بنوں جا رہی ہیں تو اس نے کہا کہ جب یہ پیدا ہو ئی تو اس وقت سے اب تک میں نے اسے اپنے بچوں کی طرح پالا اب بمباری میں مرنے کے لئے اسے کیسے چھوڑ دیتی ۔۔
