Today, @TIME named me as one of the members of the 2026 TIME100 Next, their annual list of 100 individuals who are defining the next generation of leadership: https://t.co/QJH7FAhYWp

I’m proud, I’m humbled – and I know that while this honor is for me, it’s not about me. It’s about the women of Afghanistan and the hope they carry like fire in their hands. It’s about the students of @solaafghanistan, the Afghan girls who will change the world. It’s about the resilient SOLA global village of friends and supporters.

It’s about you, reading these words, because you are with us. And that means everything.

I hope you’ll take a moment to look over the full list: https://t.co/aRoqwn9wyF. This is a proud and humbling day, and a day that I know will inspire us all.

There is work to do, and we will do it.

@SR_Afghanistan I hope it includes Pashton activists also, as they are deliberately being pushed out of such dialoguea and conferences.

We all have same vision regarding human rights violation in Afghanistan.

We made a promise to our Afghan Allies that they could resettle in the U.S. to make better lives for themselves and their families after the war.

Trump has broken that promise. But worse, he’s threatening to send our Afghan Allies either back to the Taliban or to the DRC. That’s not a choice, it’s a death sentence.

This Administration has literally deported convicted criminals to countries that they are not from. But they can’t find a safe third country for the Afghans who helped protect U.S. servicemembers?? Shame on them.

[Rep. Greg Stanton @RepGregStanton]

Totally unacceptable.

The Trump administration is forcing the Afghans who supported our military to either face persecution by the Taliban or be deported to a war zone in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

[Bernie Sanders @BernieSanders]

Afghans who risked their lives alongside U.S. troops were promised safety.

Forcing them to choose between near-certain death at the hands of the Taliban or a country they’ve never known is cruel and immoral.

We must not betray those who risk their lives to protect our soldiers.

The decision made by the British government to stop issuing student visas to Afghans is extremely unfair and hypocritic.
Afghans have been the victims of foreign wars and have lost many chances when it comes to their educations. Those countries involved in Afghanistan in the past 20 years should continue to support Afghans.

This is a discriminatory step taken by the British government and will have significant negative impact on the life and career building process of young Afghans.

Many Afghans benefited from the Chevening scholarship provided by the British government.

I call upon all the activists and human right organisations to condemn this change in law and support Afghans.
