India’s IT industry didn’t achieve supercharged growth simply by writing software in India. A big part of the business was gaming the US visa system to cheaply onshore Indian IT workers into American companies. Basically, staffing firms masquerading as IT companies.

Washington has finally caught up with this back door. First came the $100,000 fee on certain new H-1B applications. Now, major IT outsourcing firms, Microsoft and Adobe have been suspended from the PERM green-card process over alleged abuse.

A visa programme meant to attract skilled talent should never become a back door for cheap staffing.

When Honda launched the BR-V in Pakistan in 2017, it offered a locally assembled, seven-seat crossover priced well below larger sport utility vehicles. Nine years later, Honda has discontinued it, just as competition in that segment has intensified.
Honda sold 7,318 BR-Vs in 2017, but monthly production eventually fell to just 25 to 50 vehicles. Kia's Sportage and Hyundai's Tucson helped reshape the market. The BR-V did not disappear because buyers lost interest in crossovers; newer rivals won their attention.
Chinese manufacturers accelerated the shift. Haval sales doubled to 10,783 vehicles in financial year 2025, while rivals introduced newer features and hybrid engines. BYD now plans local assembly, bringing another phase of competition to Pakistan's crossover market.
Honda sold 28,015 vehicles in financial year 2026, its highest total in four years. The BR-V's exit therefore says less about Honda's fortunes than about how quickly the market changed. It anticipated demand for crossovers, but could not keep pace. Read why:

Terrain hugging: Uses terrain imagery for navigation even when all communication/GPS is denied i.e. fire and forget.

50m altitude: Not visible on long range radar. Little time for air defence or drone to intercept.

750 km range with 5m accuracy: Precision weapon, to take out specific targets like S-400.
