As closing statements were heard at the Post Office inquiry today, we paid an early ‘tribute’ to the great figure at the centre of it all. Saint Paula Vennells…
As of today every single sewage company in England and Wales is under investigation as part of the "largest ever criminal investigation", into "widespread non-compliance".
What the hell has @Ofwat and @EnvAgency been doing the last 33 years?

Emily Maitlis, "You are funny, let's be honest. You call David Cameron a posh boy but Boris Johnson has been to the exact same school and had the same upbringing, is absolutely fine"
Nadine Dorries, "No no no, I have to address that"
Emily Maitlis, "They're all very privileged people, but somehow you chose the one you love"
Nadine Dorries, "Noooo.. Boris Johnson had no money growing up.. He knows what hardship is like"
Krishnan Guru-Murthy, "He went to Eton, what are you talking about"
Nadine Dorries, "He went on a scholarship"
Rory Stewart, "No he didn't"
Six days.
Six days until the demise of a political party which revels in telling the public that I and my colleagues are “morally deficient” for upholding the rule of law by providing independent, non-judgemental legal representation to those who need it.
I cannot wait.
Tory Chairman Richard Holden @richolden asked 3 times by @joncraig on a pooled interview about the "stitch-up" of Holden parachuted into a safe seat of Billericay
Holden utterly ignores the question 3 times

It doesn't end well
@SkyNews
So Rishi Sunak claims not to know about this in order to dodge questions, as did Jeremy Hunt. Just copying them in here (as well as having emailed and posted it to the PM) @RishiSunak@Jeremy_Hunt please share so they cannot pretend to claim they don't know.
Today, President Biden put forward a clear, realistic and just plan to establish an immediate ceasefire and end the war in Gaza - a plan that ensures Israel’s security, returns hostages taken on October 7th to their families, increases aid into Gaza and relieves the suffering of Palestinian civilians, and engages Israelis, Palestinians, Arab countries and the broader international community in the process of rebuilding Gaza.
A ceasefire alone won’t ease the terrible pain of Israelis whose loved ones were butchered or abducted by Hamas, or the Palestinians whose families have been shattered by the subsequent war. It won’t resolve the longstanding conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, or answer contentious issues surrounding a two-state solution or continuing settler activity in the West Bank. But what it can do is put a stop to the ongoing bloodshed, help families reunite and allow a surge of humanitarian aid to help desperate, hungry people. It can save lives, here and now - and it can lay the foundation for what will be a long and difficult road to a future in which Israel is secure and at peace with its neighbors, and Palestinians finally have the security, freedom and self-determination that they have sought for so long.
As the tragedy in Gaza has unfolded over the past eight months, we’ve witnessed an often fierce public debate here at home - and around the world - regarding how the United States should respond. But no matter where each of us stand in these broader debates, an enduring ceasefire is something we should all support - for the sake of Israelis, Palestinians and the world at large. I am deeply encouraged by the steady, tireless efforts of President Biden, Secretary of State Tony Blinken and our diplomatic team to bring this awful war to an end.
BREAKING
Tory Jonathan Gullis @GullisJonathan took £10,000 from JCB, then stayed silent when JCB axed 200+ jobs in his constituency just 2 weeks later.
BUT he was vocal about smaller job losses from Johnson's Tiles who hadn't donated!

Bravo. Massively impressive public servant. Deserves all the accolades that come her way. There are great people who work tirelessly on both sides of the House of Commons, whose achievements - sadly - get eclipsed by some of the less honourable members
Just come across Liz Truss saying “I hadn’t gone into politics to deal with floods or fix prisons.” Why not? Wouldn’t politics be much better if she felt her job was to fix such things? This is a fundamental problem with our system @RestIsPolitics https://t.co/GKU4BsUxqX
"Why won't you say?" asks Sky's @BethRigby
Conservative James Daly MP refuses to answer multiple times when asked what he thinks Angela Rayner has done wrong, despite being the person who contacted the police about her.

Tory James Daly MP who has pushed the Greater Manchester Police to "investigate" Angela Rayner sounding utterly ridiculous on @BBCPolitics#PoliticsLive today.
Asked 3 times "what is it you think she's done?"
He had absolutely no answer.
So has he been wasting police time?
