Dangote is not arrogant, he is ruthless.
You do not rise to that level by being nice.
You do not know how many individuals Dangote had to crush to get there.
So when he tells you he is ready to fight you, better believe it.
I think the most misunderstood verse in the Bible is Romans 8:28.
We quote it as a comfort verse.
But it is actually one of the boldest declarations in scripture.
It does not say God will make everything comfortable.
It says He will make everything work together for good.
That means the betrayal is working.
The loss is working.
The delay is working.
The pain is working.
All of it.
Simultaneously.
Toward something good.
I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, "Never play fair in a game where others cheat." It doesn't mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they'll throw dirt.
Sometimes wisdom is not revenge.
Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
I love David because he was so brutally honest with God about his feelings. He didn’t pretend to have it all together. He cried, questioned, felt afraid, angry and discouraged, yet he kept bringing it all back to God. That reminds me that I don’t have to hide my feelings from Him either. I can come as I am, pour out my heart, ask the hard questions and still trust Him. God can handle the messy prayers too. 🤍
Nobody talks about the fact that when God restored Job He gave him twice what he lost.
Not the same amount.
Double.
Job 42:10
The restoration God has planned for you is not equal to what the enemy stole.
It is greater.
David really left us a blueprint for praying through real life. He didn’t hide the fear, frustration or confusion, but he also never let those feelings have the final word.
Na btw jiamini. Believe that you can do it, believe that nothing is out of reach for you, believe that you already have it. Don’t ever think hufiki na hutoshi, that’s some lame shit looking down on yourself!
On this earth, someone comes to you seeking help and support. Eg employment, or mentorship or sponsorship.
Out of kindness, you genuinely help.
But once they overcome their issues, they turn around to tarnish your name with lies & unprintable words.
People can be ungrateful.
Sometimes I like to look at life as an observer rather than a player in its games.
I came to realize at any given second, there's a trillion things happening all at once. There's someone dying, someone discovering they're cancer free, someone getting robbed, someone giving birth, someone turning 100 years old, ants marching up and down a hill, a swarm of bees making honey, fish swimming in an ocean somewhere escaping the gaping mouth of a whale, so much shit is going on.
This thought helps me sometimes not to be stuck on my own perspective and realize life isn't happening to me but through me. Might as well relax...for now. Until the next time I'm thrown yet again into an identity or existential crisis
Remember this:
People who have chosen to misunderstand you will do it no matter what you do for them.
You can choose to lie for them to walk on you, and they will still say your back is not flat enough.
Their perception of reality is only factual when they misinterpret you.
