What remains hurtful is that there are *some* Sudanese who do not recognise what happened to South Sudanese as a wider Sudanese problem of oppression, colonialism, racism, arabisation, religious extremism etc., that continues to persist today.
A significant number of women (aged 15-64) have experienced #GBV, either physical or sexual violence in their lifetime .@UNFPA๐ธ๐ธ with partners are working to address the vice.

!0 years ago today - the outbreak of #SouthSudan's civil war; the scars are still raw, the country far from healed. 2024 will bring the first elections since independence in 2011 - here's hoping they will signal a turn for the better.
