Devastated. Sammy's work changed lives (mine included), and may well have saved some. Her resources are phenomenally important for #pwME.
She was incredible. A huge loss for the #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis community, and even more for those who knew and loved her personally.
Sending all our love to all who are grieving the loss of Sammy, a person with #SevereME.
She was a powerful communicator. She was kind & creative. She will be missed more than words can say.
Please take care of yourself. Drop in a support group or contact a helpline if needed.
@gemcch@Dis_PPL_Protest@LabourHub Earnings paid for by the public, though. Wasn't that the point, 'taxpayers' wanting to see what 'their' money is spent on?
(*even tho we literally all pay taxes on anything we buy that's subject to VAT at the very least, if not fuel, public transport, utilities, etc. as well.)
@gemcch@Dis_PPL_Protest@LabourHub Let's start with asking how the MPs who are supposed to be working for us spend their income, yeah?
Disabled people's income goes straight back into the economy, barely any of us can afford to save (hoard) vast amounts of it.
@IustinVrem19904@Dis_PPL_Protest No because they'll just say they'll do something about energy and food prices, to justify cutting PIP. If we use it on essentials we clearly don't need it for extra disability stuff (!)
@GIGGLIESTGAMBLE @AlexHorne Very very much sympathise! (From years struggling on foot before using a wheelchair.)
I don't know your situation at all so feel free to disregard, but if something like a rollator or cane seat would be of use it could be worth considering for things like this ♡
@GIGGLIESTGAMBLE Oof, also understand that very much. I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy it ☹️
If you want to discuss it further with more specific detail, I'm happy to (publicly or via D M), as sometimes sharing ideas and experiences can be useful, but also v much understand not everything →
@GIGGLIESTGAMBLE @AlexHorne → limited mobility, but it was filled up by wheelchair users (and I think there was one other who didn't fit in, there were four of us in the covered area) so for a big crowd that area realistically is probably only going to be for wheelchair users.
@GIGGLIESTGAMBLE @AlexHorne In case you don't get any other reply about this:
Based on what we saw last year, the seating was first-come-first-serve based on turning up early enough to get a seat. (Not at all linked to tickets.)
There is a covered area for wheelchairs & the website says for those with →
@AlexHorne Woohoo! Desperately hoping I can get to this (possible scheduling conflict).
Last year's was my first football match ever, loved it - especially as the wheelchair accessibility was make-or-break for me, and it was great 😊
@AlexHorne Don't know why I didn't see it yesterday, maybe because I was concentrating on working out what it was supposed to be, but - shades of Officer Crabtree there! 😄
@richardosman Wow, congratulations!
Btw @richardosman I don't know if you're aware but someone is impersonating you, liking and following people who follow you and then asking them to 'inbox' them to chat. I've reported and now blocked but this is the account
