Space balloon disintegrated as we approached 90,000 feet, plummeting back right now. Fingers crossed the parachutes deploy!
We did not make it over 100,000 feet but did make it to the edge of space with a black sky for sure!
Looking forward to payload box recovery!
After growing edge of space veggies and herbs in recent years, I am excited about the the learning outcomes for the today's edge-of-space science launch for @dolostone's Pennsylvania high schoolers whose experiments are among experiments lifting from a balloon in Colorado!
Our Hydrogen space balloon is labeled 347 & launches from CO today at 10am East Coast time. #stem
You can track it's elevation & speed on the website below. Hopefully it makes it to over 100,000 ft where the sky is black & there is almost no pressure.

Grateful to speak for a third time to @USDOC employees about sustainable environmental practices. We @VCEMG master gardeners enjoy marrying our professional skills with science-based methods to make research relatable and build better backyard #biodiversity.
More than a dozen fireflies twinkled over our backyard on April 15 — six weeks earlier than we have ever seen them. @capitalweather, if lightning bugs are the summer predictor that @PunxsutawneyPhil is to spring, what does this say about coming months?
Northern Virginia sees stars with the @fairfaxparks and @AnalemmaSociety partnership at Observatory Park. 2023's attendance is nearly half of 2022's attendance, which doubled previous years. University astronomy students hone research skills, too. https://t.co/Al4n6OphmT
Undergrads, amateur astronomers, science enthusiasts and scientists can become @NASA Partner Eclipse Ambassadors, get virtual training, outreach materials, solar viewers and supportive network opportunities to reach underserved communities. Go to https://t.co/Sv7pTeESDG
My worlds collided while writing this story. Music, education, science, and the value of supporting local media @GFConnection and @ConnectionNewspapers. Looking forward to seeing Kat perform with Queen’s @DrBrianMay one day.

Never will I forget seeing the original “Stars and Stripes Forever” written in Sousa’s hand and the first Haynes C piccolo designed for that grandioso and the sight generating wet happy tears just before my job interview at the @librarycongress. ❤️🎵 This collection is amazing!
The @librarycongress has the largest flute collection in the world with more than 1,800. It incl Pres James Madison’s 1813 crystal flute.
@lizzo we would love for you to come see it and even play a couple when you are in DC next week. Like your song they are “Good as hell.”😉
And now it's officially a scrub. NASA unable to launch SLS today as part of its Artemis program. Backup dates are Monday or Tuesday, but it's not clear that NASA will go for it or to wait to fix the hydrogen leak.
Sam, apparently, doesn't know when to use "I" and "me." (The subject here, Sam, is "You," right?")
I'll lecture him later. But join us in five minutes.
We’re about to witness a supernova of science. @POTUS releases one of the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope at 5:30 ET at https://t.co/mVzy7sKqVi. @nasa Images, data and will ignite imagination, curiosity and learning. #JWST
We all grow when we share skills and enthusiasm.
Today, I shared sustainable gardening tips with 500+ @CommerceGov employees during a Veggie Gardening 101 webinar. Thanks for inviting @VCEMG#Fairfax#mastergardeners, sharing resources and best practices! #planthappiness
This @NASAJPL Solar System Ambassador volunteering with @AnalemmaSociety was caught engaging young minds and encouraging curiosity. Grateful to share equinox lessons and info about my favorite star — our sun — with the community. https://t.co/4RHRuKjq6k
