The trip of President @WilliamsRuto to Northern Kenya, with its unveiling of significant infrastructure and development projects, the commitment for further investment to foster parity with the rest of Kenya, and the empathy, acknowledgment and Presidential apology for past injustices was historic.
The trip will not only foster development, but will create healing that will positively impact not only Northern Kenya, but also with brotherly communities across the border in Somalia and Ethiopia.
But the most impactful announcement for the long term future of the youth, and one which, in my opinion, did not receive significant coverage, is the decision to incorporate Quranic schools- so called madrassas- into the formal education system of Kenya.
This move will hopefully bring resources, training, certification and oversight for the only education that many Muslim children receive.
It will help with the fight against radicalization and potential terrorism, by ensuring, through certification and oversight, that radicalized teachers do not infect young minds.
And it will facilitate the seamless graduation of students from Quranic schools into primary classes, specially for girls and children from poor households, increasing formal education significantly.
A revolutionary decision that should be adopted by both Muslim majority and minority countries! 👍🏽👏👏🙏🏾

As Muslim faithful across our country and around the world mark the end of the Day of Arafat and the beginning of Eid-ul-Adha, I extend my warmest wishes for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
Eid-ul-Adha, celebrated during this sacred season of the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the pillars of Islam, reflects the values of faith, obedience, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, and continues to inspire compassion, humility, and service to others.
The occasion also calls upon us to remember the less fortunate, strengthen the bonds of unity and coexistence, and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace and harmony as one nation.
To all Muslim faithful, I wish you and your families joy, good health, and abundant blessings during this holy celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
Today is not an ordinary day. It is a meaningful day in the journey of a nation that has worked hard, endured much, and continued to believe in its future. We thank Allah for this moment, and we welcome it with gratitude and hope.
A while ago, we gathered here at the beginning of Somalia’s oil and gas exploration. At that time, it was about possibility and early steps. Today, we are seeing real progress as the country moves into the next stage; drilling and further development of its natural resources.
This progress did not come easily. It came through patience, sacrifice, consultation, and trust in Allah. It also came through unity, when unity was needed most.
Somalia is changing. It is moving from insecurity toward stability, from division toward unity, from hardship toward a better and more hopeful future. This is not by chance, but through effort and determination.
We have a clear direction. Vision 2060 sets out a long-term future for Somalia. It is not just a plan on paper; it is a national commitment to building a stronger country over time. Alongside it is a practical transformation plan that guides the work of government in clear stages.
But for this journey to succeed, the people must stay focused. We should not be distracted by false messages or outside narratives meant to divide or mislead.
Somalia’s future must be shaped by Somalis themselves. This is a time to stay united. A time to protect opportunity. A time to move forward together.
Somalia today is not the Somalia of the past. It is a country learning to stand on its own, to make its own decisions, and to build its own future. Step by step, it is moving toward self-reliance and dignity.
The path ahead is clear. It will require unity, patience, and commitment. But if we walk together, there is no limit to what Somalia can achieve.
I welcomed Türkiye’s Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar to Mogadishu today. Our talks reaffirmed the strong Somalia–Türkiye partnership, focusing on energy, natural resources & blue economy. The arrival of the Cagri Bay drilling project ushers in new chapter of shared progress.

Ramadan Mubarak!
His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Abdur Rahman As Sudais delivered a wireless message to the field staff of the Presidency:
“Ramadan is at the doors… Seek reward from Allah, be sincere, and be truthful with Allah, the Almighty.”
The following is the summary of the Ministry Press Release today:
South West State has made the humanitarian crisis its top priority, with President @Laftagaren backing the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs for a coordinated response.
The Ministry recommends to President of Federal Republic of Somalia to elevate responding this crisis as #1 National Agenda priority by leading resource mobilization, convene high level summit in Mogadishu and ensure timely flow of resources to States.
(SoDMA) is in place at the federal level, its operational capacity is insufficient and not in a position to independently lead a response of this magnitude.
To strengthen local response, SWS will activate District Emergency Response Committees and coordinate closely with OCHA, clusters, ABC structures, and CELL meetings in Baidoa for rapid, real‑time action.
The current Humanitarian Crises in Somalia is urgent and worrisome.

The FGS needs to publicly and immediately address this.
At a time when Somalia and Somalis worldwide are undergoing a well-orchestrated and well-funded smear campaign, a government raid on a WFP warehouse?
This scale of thuggery and incompetence is not acceptable.
BREAKING: Somalia has directly urged Israel to “urgently revoke its illegal decision [recognizing Somaliland] to preserve regional and global stability.”
Meet the Interim Executive Committee of the Somalia Evaluation Society (SOMES), announced by @MoPIED_Somalia during a high-level meeting in Mogadishu that brought together government, civil society, academia, the private sector, international development partners, & UN.

@umutcagrisari A pointless argument. Dugow marks as dedicated man growed on the fragile context of the country and now contributed to the country's building agenda
