See, there’s a choice. It always costs more for ethanol free gasoline. The only thing I use it for is small engines that sit idle through the winter. I s over the winter months a lawn mower or motorcycle isn’t being used that ethanol cut gasoline can leave a residue that can require cleaning out in the Soring. All the other down side claims you hear is BS unless they’re running something like E-85 in a vehicle not designed for flex fuel. That would be their own fault for not adhering to warnings. Anything else that’s using gasoline with only 10% ethanol, running it through in a reasonable amount of time is just fine. And the 10% alcohol cut is what lowers the price.

Double the price for diesel is not a little especially for a farmer who can’t ask for an excise tax increase for the rate he’s paid to bring his grain in from the fields. It’s just double the fuel bill for vehicles burning 50-100 gallon per day. That is over $150 - $300 per day, every day for 2 months. Now take that total times the number if trucks that farmer is running during harvest. The grain he sells isn’t higher. If anything it’s lower than when diesel was $3 per gallon. Ask me about his cost increase for the fertilizer
