Grateful to @rajnathsingh ji for his deep concern about the Manipur situation and asking both communities to sit together and resolve the problem by removing the trust deficit. However, the solution lies in changing the policy of @DefenceMinIndia which was started during @INCIndia rule and continued till now.

It was rightly noted that Manipur has been peaceful in the last nine years with insurgency having been at an ebb. Unfortunately, during these peaceful years @DefenceMinIndia seems to have raised a monster in the form of #KukiMilitants in Kuki dominated areas. It is them and their supporters who attacked and burned down houses and properties of #Meities to start #ManipurViolence with an aim to fulfil their dream of a #SeparateHomeland by breaking up Manipur and ultimately from India.

What has hurt the sentiments of majority of #Meiteis is that Kukis, who had been allowed to stay in Manipur when they were persecuted by #Lusheis & #Chins, had the audacity to attack the Meiteis who had given them protection and place to live.

Over and above this, the propaganda machinery of #KukiMilitants and their supporters portrayed as if #ManipurViolence was started by some section of Meiteis, never mentioning the fact that it was them who started the violence by simultaneous attack and arson of Meitei houses and properties in Torbung, Churachandpur, Moreh, Ekou and Motbung in Kuki dominated areas. This had further angered the youths amongst Meiteis.

The audacity of #KukiMilitants and their supporters to attack Meiteis and then undertake false propaganda to play the victim card seems to have arisen from their conviction that #IndianSecurityForces would be supporting them.

Therefore, Manipur violence can be resolved only when @DefenceMinIndia
changes its policy of seeing #ValleyExtremists as insurgents while considering #KukiMilitants as patriots and using them as #mercenary.

Further, the apology for starting the violence should come from the side of the Kukis to initiate a peace dialogue as it is the tradition for the attacker to apologize first to initiate talk to bring peace.

It may be noted that #Chin #Kuki have been strongly protesting the deployment of @manipur_police
in the area, a cosmopolitan town where the #Meitei community has been cleansed. In last few days, the Police had nabbed several #IllegalImmigrants from Myanmar.

This has been a pattern of #Manipur_Violence, relative calm and then a provocation or fresh firing and the a new cycle of violence.

💔 "One by one, they put their hands inside my blouse, and molested me as I struggled to free myself. They touched me in my private parts,” she added, breaking down.

💔 Another group of 5-6 people approached, who spoke Kuki language. “I thought maybe they would save me, but they too, were perpetrators,” she added.

The #Manipur Crisis has been a boon in disguise for many victims of #KukiMilitants who had been living under their GOONDA RAJ. Illegal taxation and extortion was the norm in kuki dominated areas of Manipur since decades. Only now, the truth is coming out. At present, with the #KukiMilitants’ takeover of the administration in Churachandpur, Moreh, Kangpokpi etc and the formation of its interim “government” like the ITLF who have no intention to stop the violence or even engage in peace talks, who are openly fighting the state government, ergo, the government of #India ,there has been a rise in state cross-border extortions. New waves of extortions will continue to fund the violent war.

In light of these incessant extortions occurring in the national highways and other #Kuki_Zo dominated areas, Indian authorities must form a task force for an effective border-management system to crack down on the local criminal extortion networks that help the #KukiMilitants extort Indian citizens. Furthermore, the government of India must set up a secure extortion reporting scheme that guarantees victim protection and support.

Unless there are operations against these #KukiMilitants,the #Manipur issue will never be resolved permanently. The first step should be abrogating the SoO agreement which all the militants groups have clearly broken, REPEATEDLY .
