My experiment of posting the Faris Odeh image has yielded interesting results. I'd divide comments into three types:
1) the vast majority are Muslims/Arabs/people-who-support-the-Palestinian-cause, who see him as a moving image of sacrifice and courage. This is not surprising.
2) One minority response has been to blame his parents for either a) pushing him to go out and confront the Israeli army or b) neglecting him so he could do that. I would say that the vast majority of these responses come from pro-Israel folks. They are guilty of the offense of not googling something and clicking on a top result, a WaPo article which makes it extremely clear that his parents did everything they could to prevent him going out to protest (see attached link).
3) Another minority response, often taken by those who started with #2 but were confronted with actual evidence, is to say Palestinian/Arab/"Muslim" culture is to blame for inculcating Faris with a culture of hate. It is not Arab/Muslim/Palestinian culture that creates this culture, however. It is the seven decades of violent and oppressive Israeli occupation. Occupied and oppressed people are not to blame for resenting or trying to oppose that oppression (see the American Revolution, ANC, and pretty much every other case you can think of). My questions to these people: have you ever watched any American movies? Have you ever read the Bible (let's not forget that the first mention of the afterlife in Jewish scripture is the Book of Maccabees' depiction of a mother glorying in the martyrdom of her sons), or any of the Classics? Clearly people who offered this response are unable to see Palestinians as human beings equal to themselves or any other struggle to defend one's land/freedom/people. BTW, this is not a failing of former Israeli PM Ehud Barak, who, when asked by Gideon Levy what he would have done if he were born Palestinian, was to admit that he would have joined one of "the terror organizations" (see https://t.co/H2IZnYLtcK). 4) A third minority response is to blame Palestinians for not accepting Israeli offers of peace. I'm sorry but this is not a serious position, as has been well documented for over two decades (see for example, Israeli PM Shamir's admission in 1992 that his government's plans were to stretch out negotiations while flooding the West Bank with settlements i.e. exactly what happened. https://t.co/D4lUBwMkEq). 5) A fourth minority answer is to say that Muhammad was a pedophile, which is not really relevant.
Haze blankets cities in Indonesia's Kalimantan and Sumatra as fires rage https://t.co/WYFFK4Mbgf Singapore Straits Times #haze#kabut#jerebu#pollution from #Indonesia
We did it again, sending #haze pollution to neighboring countries Singapore and Malaysia, even Thailand, and yet our government has the cheek to say it's not from us even as satellite images prove it. Bikin malu! "Haze blankets Indonesia's Kalimantan and Sumatra as fires rage" ST
In Management 101, I show to my class how that if your contractor is bad, in one way or other you do share at least 1/4 of the blame. Usually, the bigger the organisation the bigger it's share of the blame for a failed contract. Think about it.
(2) ~penyokong PH, bukan kebanyakan undi dari Melayu. Apalagi kita tau pengundi lain itu datang sepenuh kuasa, sedangkan Melayu banyak yg akhirnya tak kesah pasal mengundi.
This is just an observation of reality.
Keputusan lengkap PRN823 belum keluar, jadi ini bukan 'pandai sebab dah tau apa jadi'; kebetulan dlm perjalanan rentas 3 negeri tadi sy lalu banyak pusat undi dan sempat beramah dgn bbrp pengundi. Pemerhatian: kalau BN menang sesuatu kerusi, banyak undi kerusi tu datang dari~ (2)

[PEMBETULAN LAPORAN BERITA]

I have and I know. Fight corruption is just when it's against the party. Party kowtowers still have free reign. Plus his propaganda machine is superb, making outsiders think it's so clean and good.
@bawalsakti Xi does not need to worry about democracy, while PMX has to look after many factors.

@7Ahmadishak Badan gemuk macam tu memalukan tentera saja.
