Simple analogy:

I’m an academic. I trek from my house to the main road. I then take Keke to get a car to work. Upon arrival, I trek from the Senate Building to my faculty. While in school, sometimes I don’t eat. Sometimes I eat just once a day at work. I don’t even use a car to work because I don’t have one. Those that have one have dropped it due to fuel issues. Senior officers too, even those hitherto seen as “big men”, don’t come with cars now. We don’t even have the resources, not to talk of wasting them.

This short story reflects the realities of many Nigerians and those struggling to eke out a living amidst multidimensional hardship of gargantuan proportions.

Be that as it may, what does this simple analogy, in the above exordium, actually mean? Here is a simple explanation:

The President choosing to eat once a day, trek to work, or not use any car is his personal choice or preferences. On the other hand, the masses finding it hard to eat, go to work, and dropping their cars due to fuel or maintenance or hardship don’t have the ludicrous luxury of options to choose from.

Some jobs are truly life-changing.

A friend of mine moved from academia into the industry. He didn’t start big. He started somewhere, learned, grew, built his experience, and kept pushing.

The lesson? Don’t lose hope.

Don’t insist that your first opportunity must come from a big company or a prestigious organisation. Sometimes, the small opportunity is simply the bridge to the big one.

The Chairman of Maigatari Local Government, Hon. Usman Na'Allah, paid a visit to some Bet9ja betting shops across the local government area, as part of the campaign by the committee against social vices.

the visit is part of the measures being taken by the local government administration to fight immoral behavior, and to ensure peace, security, and improved community values.

He also admonished and preaches to them on the Islamic strict rule on betting.

During the visit, Hon. Usman Na'Allah reiterated that his administration will not tolerate any activity that leads to moral decay or poses a threat to community peace.

He also called on parents, community leaders, and security agencies to continue working together to protect young people from falling into bad habits, and to report anything that could threaten security and peace.

Whatever malignant plans they hatched to besmirch the image of @ProfIsaPantami, who has pervasively gained massive acceptance and support in Gombe, appear to have failed thus far. First, they used Rarara to tarnish his image, but it immediately backfired and translated into massive support for Pantami across the state. Many clerics, party supporters, and well-wishers all condemned that song. Those who were previously on the fence later ended up unflinchingly aligning with him.

Then they concocted another fictitious, yet mischievous, propaganda that Pantami brazenly disrespected the Emir of Gombe by refusing to see him while he was Minister. However, the Gombe Emirate later issued a statement clarifying that it was a flat-out lie, as the Emir never went to see Pantami.

The idea was to pitch Pantami against the masses by portraying him as a disrespectful and despicable person. But that statement from the Gombe Emirate Council dismantled that surreptitious agenda. The propaganda they plotted is now being viewed as a disrespect to the Emir, which is now causing them serious damages.

To put it into better perspectives, the same Gombe Emirate presented Prof. Pantami with a letter of commendation when he left office in 2023 because of what he did for Gombe and Nigeria as a whole while in office as Minister. If he was not in their good books, would they have honoured him?

The more they try, the more their schemes keep backfiring and ultimately ridiculing them.
