Excited to have this published! We identify a subset of microRNAs acquired by sperm from the epididymal epithelium that regulate gene expression in preimplantation embryos > https://t.co/7TcbDK1GCs
Huge thanks to @ColinConine for the support and guidance during this project
The 'swollen' phenotype was from epididymal tubule breakdown and cell infiltration and was accompanied by many gene changes. Interestingly, while offspring of germ-free dads didn't show the severe swollen epididymis, they shared many epididymal gene changes.
Working with germ-free mice with the @TakuKambayashi Lab we saw a 'swollen' epididymal phenotype occurring, so we took a closer look https://t.co/IQ3X6hsLZT
Pleased to share my latest review article published with @SpringerNature in @NatRevUrol: Exploring the pathophysiological effects of hypoxia on testis function and spermatogenesis https://t.co/AGyg3QC3WV
🔥🔥 A modest increase in temp doesn't affect sperm functionality but does alter sperm small RNAs, embryo dev and gene expression in mice plus more. https://t.co/HgNdEqk8th
📢Postdoc available! We are looking for curious minds to answer big questions using epigenome editing

@CTamessar from @UON_research @HMRIAustralia paper on the influence of seminal fluid extracellular vesicles (SFEV) on sperm function now published. Here we show that SFEVs deliver cargo to sperm to elicit subtle changes to their function@Repro_Fertility
