I swear, we're announcing a game soon.
It was supposed to be January but we met development issues that pushed our schedule back a bit. It's coming along very well and we think you'll be impressed by it. The release date will be very close to the reveal, so look forward to it!
100%. A big part of the problem is there's a steady stream of drones taught to work easy software like Blender and Unreal, but AAA wouldn't give a genius game creator like Will Wright a shot today or the Miller Bros, John Carmack, Richard Garriott etc., because they're white men.
To the overwhelming majority of non-gamers 3D models and realistic lighting automatically make a game better looking as a matter of course, it's not even a question.
AAA studios chase those people now, with the problem they run into being those people don't actually buy games.
I saw this coming in 2018 and I don't play God of War. Genuine question for longtime fans-
Were there no alarm bells after a kid was stapled to Kratos, after the complete gameplay shift and after the new games were glorified apology tours for the originals being hyper-masculine?
@GermanStrands Kratos is the God of War – we have many more stories to tell with him. For now, we’re excited to take fans on a journey into the afterlife of the gods with Faye and hope you’ll come along for the ride!
It's crazy how many times we've gone through this process, where a western AAA studio pays millions to have the likeness rights to an absolute stunner of a woman only to then intentionally alter her face to make her uglier.
Even crazier is that morons still deny that it happens.
@BigTimeDedede Agreed. I had some fun with it for what it was but I wouldn't replay it.
It did make me notice how little effort was put into the visuals when 'Metroid Prime: Hunters' on DS a decade earlier looked far better on weaker hardware and didn't resort to a chibi art direction.
Correct, though we don't have to say that we "would" mock a Metroid game that replaced Samus with a man because it already happened. It's well documented that we mocked it to death.
It was 'Metroid Prime: Federation Force' where you can play as a squad of dudes but not Samus.
To the people complaining that we want the male protagonist Kratos to be the main character in a God of War game. I would mock a male character as the main protagonist in a Metroid game just as much.
@phlauxthefox It was 100% good that we mocked it.
Federation Force was only a decade ago and nobody called gamers entitled, toxic or evil for not accepting a subpar Metroid game back then. It's interesting how much can change in such a short time.
I'm fascinated. Are "all the top answers" that you're seeing written by bots and lunatics that also happen to be phantoms?
Unless you can see a whole lot that the rest of us can't, the only reply on that post right now is yours.
@NEHWind I open this post, and all the top answers are from the accounts that I've blocked.
These people are bots and lunatics. They don't deserve our attention.
Yup. I said exactly this last week when a moron corpo-blogger tried to blame rising expenses in the western AAA industry on "labor costs" while the studios routinely blow an uncountable amount of millions on wholly unnecessary trash like this.

"Stop talking about video game censorship!"
When you stop censoring video games.
"Stop calling the females ugly!"
Stop making ugly females.
"Stop calling movies bad!"
When you stop making bad movies.
"Why can't you just enjoy media?"
Because people like you won't allow it.
@Asmongold@NEHWind@Dansgaming Without fking fail.
The western games industry will never improve as long as they continue to straw man us with sexism to avoid addressing the real issue.
The game looks like crap. Period. It’s not rocket science or a sexist conspiracy theory.
Yet another reason why games need shorter dev times, smaller teams, and smaller budgets. They hop on a trend and five years later everyone is already tired of it.
