@megbasham Except that the quotation from his video isn't fair or accurate. It would have been better to use him as an example of a well meaning "peace seeker" that is being duped into complicity with dynamics he is not discerning. It's a better argument that many would consider.
@JoelWBerry@gavinortlund You used the same word the MSM is using to undermine J.D. Vance- "weird". It's not weird to respond to slander, calling it such and giving specific chapter and verse. It's a biblical command to rebuke those that sin against you.
@cleartruthmedia @jchasedavis It's easy enough to listen to Gavin say the quote and then read what Megan wrote. If objecting to her misrepresentation is a "hoax", I'm not sure what misquotation could ever be classified as a such.
@Fred_Butler this is gas lighting. Person #1 lobby's everyone to attack a person. When person #2 tries to counter this, he is "running around to everyone...". Alisa is getting those comments because she decided not to take responsibility for a single falsehood promoted on her channel.
@jm_larue Your last claim is false. And don't lots of people believe humanity has effected the climate, but just don't believe in Green New Deal like policies that harm economies, the poor, and people's rights? So your issue is his views on creationism? I think that is a fair crit.
@williamwolfe@megbasham it's perfectly virtuous to ask for people platforming the bearing of false witness to correct it. Getting upset about that is to respond arrogantly to a proper rebuke.
@iWomansplainer@gavinortlund exactly. She has no idea who he is. I want to like both of them, but if only one of them is doing their research and isn't ideologically captured, I'm putting all my chips on Gavin.
@TuckerCarlson it was all great. But I thought the shot at the press secretary at the end was flat. Maybe if I'd see other bits on her I'd have connected with it, but she doesn't seem to me to be less intelligent than the other press secretaries.
Fear of the Lord in leaders leads to praise of the Lord in the people.
Nehemiah 5. When people in power CAN commit injustice, what reliably inhibits corruption and risks reform?
See also Matt 25.
Affinity and momentum without institution can't last. Whitfield, the greatest pop phenomenon in American history referred to his work later as a "rope of sand" because it had no committed, ordered, even hierarchical structure- no institution.
Join something that should last.
A younger person to me once: "My generation likes things. We don't join institutions."
Me (trying to be and sound kind): "Then your generation will get to not accomplish things."
Fact: committed, ordered voluntary cooperation is how humans accomplish most hard things. join stuff.
53% of one helping profession has had trouble finding staff. They say it is because of what they can pay relative to inflation. Inflation over 3% will decrease the number of people that can make a middle class living in helping professions. This Makes a real difference for many.
Club Q shooting note: evangelical faith does, or should, abominate such murders even if nightclub behavior is not approved in our sexual ethic. Our doctrine of humanity precedes our doctrine of sin.
Also: our faith affirms using a concealed weapon on the perpetrator.
A material difference. I know this is not the only externality of Dobbs, but it is an important on. I think the most important. https://t.co/AvqfjOHiPh
@djbulnes@SenTedCruz notice it doesn't include democrats? Have you seen that list? Do you think they, their associates and families didn't take advantage of it?
@TheJayHolt@SenTedCruz are you willing to pay a little more for every cause that is as morally praiseworthy as this? Your argument proves too much. Even charity requires principled choices. 20k payouts are an election year bribe. #timingandpolls
