Mama Anwar Sahib Khan
(Biography)
“Anwar Sahib Khan was born in Pasni on 11 April 1944. Unlike others, Mama preferred to live in Pasni for the majority of his life. The coastal areas nurtured his perception of life, because he grew up among the fishermen, coastal laborers, and people which gave him a deep understanding of the challenges in life as a Baloch. Throughout his educational journey, He was evolving with the passion and love of performing arts and literary works which shaped his life in a significant way.”

We are pleased to share that five Baloch students; Azhar Baloch, Ghos Baksh Baloch, Shehzad Baloch, Anees Baloch and Waseem Baloch, who were forcibly disappeared from Gulshin-e-Iqbal, Karachi, on the night of 5th August by Law Enforcement Agencies and Rangers, have been released and returned home safely. However, two other students Khalil Baloch and Zubair Baloch are still detained and their whereabouts remain unknown.
While we welcome their safe release which is a positive development, but we still seek an end to harassing and enforce disappearances of Baloch students. No any student should be subjected to this heinous punishment. The harassment, intimidation and forced disappearances of Baloch students must be stopped immediately and all the students must be released safely.

We are deeply alarmed to share that five Baloch students from the University of Karachi; Azhar Baloch s/o Hayat, Ghos Baksh Baloch s/o Hayat, Shehzad Baloch s/o Shahid, Anees Baloch s/o Azeem, and Waseem Baloch s/o Mohd Ameen have been forcibly disappeared by Law Enforcement Agencies and Rangers from their residential flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi.
Last night at 2:00AM, the mentioned security forces raided an apartment in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. After physically assaulting and harassing the students, five Baloch students along with their belongings were forcibly disappeared. Following their illegal detention, their whereabouts still remain unknown. While previously, khalil Baloch, a MPhil student from the University of Karachi, was forcibly disappeared from the premises of the campus.
While another incident, Zubair Baloch s/o Noor Mohmad, graduated student from BS Chemistry at Degree College Hub was forcibly disappeared from Hub after returning from a trail of his case in the fourth schedule to his home.
Azhar Baloch, a resident of Gwadar, is a student of General History, while his brother Ghos Baksh Baloch is a student of BS Economics. Shehzad Baloch, resident of Gwadar, is a student of Environmental Science. Anees Baloch, residing in Noshki, is a student of BS Philosophy, while Waseem Baloch, a resident of Kalat, is a student of BS Political Science at the University of Karachi.
All these individuals are enrolled students of University of Karachi, who left their hometowns to pursue higher education but unfortunately they become victim of enforced disappearance. The targeting and abducting of the students within and near the University premises is another matter of concern. These unjust actions not only affect the educational career of the Baloch students, but also subject them to severe psychological trauma.
We demand the concerned authorities to immediately stop the harassment and this heinous behavior towards the Baloch students, and immediately release all seven Baloch students safely, while assuring us the security of all Baloch students.

The enforced disappearance of Jeeyand Baloch, a student political activist and Asif Baloch along with his friends— who were subjected to enforced disappearances a week earlier— is concerning. Baloch students are facing a serious challenge in this alarming period. This deliberate act of illegal acts and intimidation, marked by unstoppable numbers of enforced disappearances, is not only condemnable but highly concerning. We have always deemed such acts as unlawful and inhumane in nature and have condemned them in many cases. We believe that such conduct creates an atmosphere of fear among Baloch society, which is a clear violation of democratic practice.
We, as a student organisation, strongly believe in democracy, the law, and the justice system, and require the government to uphold the rule of law and ensure justice envisioned. We demand that all the students along with all other individuals, who have been subjected to enforced disappearances must be released safely.
