Children who develop two independent tumors during childhood are extremely rare. We wanted to shed light into those exceptional cases using genome analysis
We also reveal the mutational footprint of chemotherapy in normal tissues using duplex sequencing of autopsy samples

Molt trista per aquesta notícia. Gran professor, comunicador i científic.

Immune checkpoint blockade has revolutionized #cancer therapy, but this works much better for some patients compared to others. What are the major factors distinguishing response? In a recent report, investigators evaluated the clinical, genetic and transcriptomic data for 479 metastatic cancer patients treated with #immunotherapy and identified 5 major factors for response: “tumor mutation burden, T cell effective infiltration, transforming growth factor-beta activity in the microenvironment, prior treatment and tumor proliferative potential”. This was validated in 1491 patients in 6 individual cohorts. @nlbigas
➡️ Studies like this will help us personalize immunotherapy decisions and design future combination treatments.
