The team have been out supporting a fantastic community Christmas event the last few weekends. Each year Haworth arrange for celebration events in the lead up to Christmas. Our team have enjoyed supporting and playing a part in this community event.
As I start on a new venture with Community Medics, I have taken to reflecting back each week on the challenges and successes that we face. You can follow along on this journey at https://t.co/Gvnr0Rnql8
Last night I paid a visit to @SJAGMYouth cadet unit in Oldham. Was a great chance to meet with one of the District Youth Officers who is currently leading the Oldham unit.
Stopped by the Oldham half marathon today and bumped into @SJA_GM who were providing first aid cover. It was great to see a mix of disciplines with cadets, FAs, ambulance crews and HCP coming together to provide medical cover.

It was great to hear today that as part of the Wigan Cadets Grand Prior topic this term (Volunteering in the Community) they have been building a relationship with the Wigan Haigh Hall Parkrun.
This morning the @SJAGMYouth Wigan cadets were up bright and early to give first aid demonstrations to the participants. Some of the Wigan Cadets even chose to run the 5k!

Today @SJAGMYouth held their annual Youth Networking day. The cadets had their opportunity to hear from Deputy District Manager Kat around the @SJA_GM restructure and how this will impact them with opportunities to ask questions. Network lead Emily led a session on employability skills and Max hosted his annual quiz.
I am extremely proud of @DavidjonesSJA for his hard work in establishing the @SJAGMYouth Cadet unit in Stretford. A great new addition to the youth offering for @SJA_GM. Special thanks to our @DcotyGM for attending and for Trafford's Mayor @AmyMWhyte for visiting the unit.
If anyone wants to know more about how you can volunteer to support this unit, or if you want to join as a cadet, email us at [email protected] to find out more.

Amazing skills demonstrated by Leland from Wigan cadets. At the Gm Youth Summer BBQ the QCPR dolls were used for hands only CPR and Leland techniques based on speed, depth and consistency was rated at 100% over 60 seconds. A score that is very rarely seen.
Happy International Youth Day 🎉
Our young people are the future of this country, and they need inspiring leaders to help them reach their full potential.
Make a difference by signing up as a Youth Leader, and teach children in your area vital first aid skills.
Last week I undertook St John Ambulance new AET Plus training course. This was the pilot course and was a great experience and I look forward to seeing the final package being delivered in the near future.
It is always a sad time when a volunteer leaves, and even more so when they have played such an important role where they have supported, led and developed the young people in St John. Yesterday Natasha, unit manager of Oldham Cadets left St John. Natasha has been a fantastic unit manager who grew the Oldham Cadet unit into a vibrant and full unit. I personally will miss Natasha but wish her all the best on her next new adventure. @SJA_GM@SJAGMYouth
Last Thursday I attended the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority meeting where elections took place for our leadership team. Congratulations to all, especially the co-chairs, and I can’t wait to see what the term ahead holds as a new member of the leadership team 💚💚💚
Tonight, I have had the privilege of attending Bolton cadet units' annual youth awards. It is amazing to see the progression of the cadets & share in the succes of their achievements. Special thanks to the youth team of Bolton & @boltontory Mayor of Bolton for joining the celebrations this evening. @SJA_GM@SJAGMYouth@stjohnambulance
Tonight, in my role with @SJA_GM I attended the Radcliffe cadet unit where cadet Demi-Leigh received a Directors Commendation for her outstanding commitment to helping others in their time of need presented by Area Manager Helen.
It was an amazing day in London at St.Pauls cathedral for St John's Day. It's great to see so many people from all different parts of the St John family coming together. As always, it was a great turnout from our youth including our @DcotyGM and deputy DCOTY. It was also a pleasure to hear our band perform.
