JUST IN: @newsguild sues WaPo as part of what appears to be a bid to try to get employee salary data with names (which the union has argued it needs to look at racial disparities). Doc: https://t.co/GH6jfe9uXy
Today, our members distributed fliers outside the Forbes Iconoclast summit to let management know we deserve a fair contract.
Four years into bargaining, Forbes is still proposing wages that do not keep up with inflation.

When we fight, we win—and get some great press coverage to boot! This week, after trying to break our union by illegally firing and disciplining our members, Condé Nast settled with the NewsGuild.
Some personal news, as they say:
I’m so stoked for the rest of the Fired Four getting this deal. Conde is giving them nearly two years of backpay.
They offered me 4 months. In the absence of a serious offer, I’m looking forward to my day in court.

VINDICATED: @CondéNast is paying the price for its illegal attempts at busting our union. Our members won a settlement that vindicates those who “marched on the boss” in November 2025.

“Our fight as a union is about more than a single contract; it is about ensuring workers’ rights to a just workplace,” said @susandecarava. “When employers attempt to undermine our rights, we will organize, fight back, and hold them accountable.”
WE WON: Our @CondéNast members who were illegally fired and disciplined after taking part in a “march on the boss” in November have been reinstated as part of a more than $400,000 settlement. More details here ... https://t.co/mPONRGVzXZ

TAKING LEGAL ACTION: The @nytimes is using AI technology to monitor and surveil the performance of our @NYTGuildTech members in violation of their collective bargaining agreement. More here...

ProPublica’s board and senior management hide when asked to engage with bargaining. The board meets today, but they won’t meet with us.
We will make our voices unavoidable until they agree to a fair contract, so today we welcomed folks to our office with flyers about our fight.
HAPPENING TODAY: We are holding an informational picket out @Reuters to let management know we will not stop until we win a fair contract -- including wages that recognize our value! See you at 1PM EST! And you can watch here live!

@nytimes Ed Shanahan: Above all, we want any use of A.I. to have human oversight, something management negotiators, including newsroom leaders, have rejected. They insist that company policies ensure this will happen. But policies can be changed on a whim. Contractual protections cannot.
