These figures show how Ennahda which is now blamed by populists and old regime and counter revolution did not really govern and had no real executive power in most of the last ten years.
Some figures of relevance to the Tunisian crisis 👇🏻:
Kais has begun a series of arrest against MP's, supporters are keen to provide the legal pretext for these arrests, but forget that 1) there can be no fair trials, while Kais is the police, prosecutor judge and jailer 2) difficult for a recourse under the law unles kais allows it
CrisisGroup: whether or not Tunisians & foreign govts deem Saïed’s action a coup, it was clearly an orchestrated power grab. His close circles had spoken months ago about his desire to invoke Art 80. Demonstrations framing his actions looked provocative, may have been pre-planned

By firing the PM and freezing Parliament, Tunisian President, Kais Saied, now has power concentrated
in his hands. A very dangerous situation. We refuse to go back to the days of Ben Ali and one-man
totalitarian despotic rule.

We must preserve #Tunisia’s democratic achievements, and therefore, we reject the suspension of our
democratic process and disregard of the Tunisian people.
