The Houthis’ crimes against children continue unabated. Yemen’s children deserve protection, not violence, exploitation, and a future stolen by armed groups. The international community must act to hold those responsible accountable and protect every child’s right to live in safety and dignity.

Telecommunication in Taiz. users have reported an internet outage affecting large areas of Taiz Governorate for several hours. The service, provided by Houthi-controlled #YemenNet, has also experienced noticeable slowdowns in recent days.
Reliable internet access is essential for civilians to access information, communicate, and obtain emergency assistance. We urge relevant international organisations to monitor the situation and address concerns over telecommunications access in Yemen.

He went to make his mother happy with 50,000 riyals = $90 . Instead, he ended up on the front lines.
A heartbreaking account from Ibb, Yemen, describes how two brothers from a family displaced from Taiz were reportedly drawn into the conflict through promises of money, food and a “cultural course.”
The older brother, hoping to bring home money to help his mother, found himself at the front in Dhubab on Yemen’s western coast. He called his family and said: “This may be my last call. I’m at Bab al-Mandab on the front line.” Then the call ended.
His 15-year-old younger brother approached a local supervisor with one simple request: to hear his brother’s voice. Two days later, he was reportedly summoned to make that call—and was also taken to the front.
One brother went looking for money to support his mother. The other went looking for his brother’s voice. According to this account, both ended up on the battlefield.
This is the human cost of exploiting poverty and family desperation to draw young people into war. Children belong in schools, with their families and in safe communities—not on front lines.
Yemen’s children need protection, not recruitment. The international community must strengthen efforts to prevent the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict and ensure that affected families receive support.
This account is reported to have occurred in a neighbourhood in Ibb city. The details should be independently verified.

Taiz is facing a genuine humanitarian crisis after the Houthi militia cut off the road that previously connected the city to the governorates of Lahj and Aden via Haijat Al-Abd, following their takeover of parts of western rural Taiz. The Houthis now control the road and are already preventing fuel, medicines, food, and other essential supplies from reaching Taiz, further worsening the suffering of its residents and threatening the continuity of basic services. Hospitals are facing critical shortages of fuel and medical supplies. Cancer patients and people suffering from kidney failure, who depend on treatment and dialysis services within the city, are at direct risk. Emergency and inpatient departments also require fuel and essential supplies to continue providing vital medical care. Cutting off this road does not merely isolate Taiz from its surrounding areas; it severs a lifeline for civilians and obstructs the delivery of the essential supplies they need to survive and receive medical treatment. What is happening now calls for urgent action by the United Nations, humanitarian organizations, and the international community to reopen the road and ensure the delivery of food, medicine, fuel, and medical supplies to the people of Taiz.
