The IPL is losing its charm every year. The first few seasons were absolute madness, but the hype just isn’t there anymore. Like the IPL is literally going on right now, yet not many seem to care.

I think people are slowly getting fatigued with the same format, same cycle, and same overkill of matches. It still has huge brand value, but it probably needs to reinvent itself to regain that old craze and cultural buzz.

Officer trainees of the Indian Revenue Service (IT) called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President said that a fair and transparent tax system fosters equity and strengthens the foundation of inclusive and sustainable growth. She said that ability of IRS officers to analyse complex financial transactions, trace illicit financial flows across borders, and unravel intricate corporate structures, makes them indispensable partners in advancing the nation’s journey towards the goal of Viksit Bharat.

Gaganyatri Gp Capt Shubhanshu Shukla (@gagan_shux) delivered an insightful talk on “From Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan – India’s Space Odyssey” under Viksit Bharat Talk Series at NCA-F to the Officer Trainees of Special Foundation Course 2025.

He shared with Officer Trainees that from thousands of miles above the earth, national boundaries vanish, revealing the deeper truth that humanity shares one planet and one destiny.

Emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration, he explained how every successful mission is built on trust, unity, and collective effort across teams and nations.

He urged officer trainees to become agents of change in their respective spheres, stressing that true progress begins with individual initiative, accountability, and courage to act. He also reflected on how the world is closely observing India’s rapid strides in space exploration and space tech, as India emerges as a pioneering force shaping the future of humanity in space.

Concluding his talk, Gp Capt Shukla inspired young officers to dream big and aim higher but still live in the moment. He exhorted Officer Trainees to work collectively towards the aim of Viksit Bharat.

The Special Foundation Course for 176 Officer Trainees of 15 All India/Central Civil Services was formally inaugurated today at NCA-F, in the august presence of Shri Sriram Taranikanti, Director, LBSNAA, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony marked not just the beginning of a 12-week long training program, but the weaving together of diverse experiences, aspirations, and commitments to public service.

In his Inaugural Address, Shri Taranikanti emphasised that anonymity is the bedrock of Civil Service and that a Civil Servant has to be an eternal optimist. He urged OTs to channelize their youthful energy towards nation-building, reminding them that true leadership lies in shared vision and calls for sacrifice.

Delivering the Ceremonial Address, Shri Manish Sinha, Member (Finance), DCC, emphasized the need to build resilient institutions and to ensure efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the service to the people. He urged OTs to forge life-long friendships which will stand the test of time.

In her Keynote Address, Ms. Madhavi Das, DG, NCA-F, shared her vision of NCA-F as a vibrant hub of excellence. She urged the OTs to grab every opportunity towards nation-building. She reaffirmed NCA-F's commitment to nurturing future-ready civil servants who are infused with the values of seva bhaav, jan seva, empathy, accountability, and continuous learning - qualities that transform governance into a true instrument of citizen service.

Addressing the OTs, Dr. Kamal Kapoor, Course Director, highlighted that the Foundation Course is, in itself, a contract of Discipline, Diligence and Dignified behaviour on part of OTs and Academic Rigor, Commitment, Dedication, Excellence and Fairness on part of the NCA-F.

Sh. Shailesh Bansal, Course Coordinator, SFC, encouraged the OTs to immerse themselves in the learning experience of the months ahead, carrying with them the timeless call of the Gita: “कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।” (Your right is to action alone, never to its fruits).

On this solemn occasion, the OTs were administered the Oath of Allegiance by DG NCA-F - pledging unwavering loyalty to the Republic and the Constitution and a firm resolve to uphold its ideals, and faithful adherence to Laws in the service of the nation.

Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary (Telecom), addressed 176 Officer Trainees of the Special Foundation Course 2025 at NCA-F.

In his address, he highlighted NCA-F’s role as a specialized institute of DoT in capacity building for policy, governance, finance, spectrum economics and audit. This first-ever Special Foundation Course at NCA-F, conducted in collaboration with LBSNAA Mussoorie, has brought together Officer Trainees from 15 All-India/Central Civil Services.

Highlighting telecom as the nerve system of modern India, he emphasized its role in digital services and bridging the rural–urban divide, urging officer trainees to use technology for public good.

The session also reaffirmed commitment to Sampoorna Swachhata, with Secretary (Telecom) administering the Swachhta Pledge in the presence of Ms Madhavi Das, DG, NCA-F — marking a decade of progress and renewing the resolve for a cleaner, healthier India.
