A team of researchers from Gauhati University has developed a low-cost, eco-friendly sensor for monitoring plant and human health, featured on the cover of ACS Applied Electronic Materials.
The sensor, created by Dr Hemen Kalita, Assistant Professor and his students Rajnandan Lahkar and Biswajit Dehingia from the Department of Physics, uses graphene oxide and pencil-drawn electrodes on paper to detect humidity. It is affordable, flexible, and sustainable, enabling farmers to monitor crop conditions and aiding health professionals in tracking human health through humidity changes, such as sweat or breathing patterns.
