Wrong. I’ve seen plenty of foreign actors deliver incredible performances in the English language despite it not being their first language such as Léa Seydoux, Mads Mikkelsen, Christoph Waltz, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Sandra Hüller, Javier Bardem, Ken Watanabe, Gael García Bernal, Wagner Moura, and Antonio Banderas, just to name a few. Blaming Gal's accent or simply saying “English isn’t her first language” completely misses the point of the criticism. Nobody is expecting her pronunciation to be 100% perfect. The problem is that her performance lacks the emotion, facial expression, vocal variation, and screen presence needed to make the character convincing. Her line delivery often feels stiff and monotonous, and there’s very little behind her eyes or in her physical performance to sell what the character is feeling. An accent can be forgiven when the acting underneath it is compelling, but here? The accent isn’t the issue, the lack of acting range and emotional presence is. Gal just isn’t strong enough as an actress when it comes to conveying complex emotions or commanding a scene, and that becomes even more apparent when she’s demanded to carry a role that requires more dramatic range, intensity, and presence than she seems capable of giving 🤷

The latest "apology" from Jeff Sneider is 💯 damage control. If he was truly sorry, he wouldn't have been overtly dismissive and defensive online. Now he wants to change his tune to "limit the collateral damage" 😒

Javier Bardem on not being afraid to speak up about politics at #Venice:
“It doesn’t matter if you’re an artist, an actor, a plumber, a taxi driver, you have the right to expose your truth on what you think is important. Obviously I have more resources to do it than a taxi driver, because I have this thing [the mic] and I have you guys listening to me. So the responsibility is a different one.” https://t.co/FiYglgttm9

For John Rocha to say that the comments were toxic during the live with Jeff Sneider is ridiculous 🙄 The comments I saw for the most part called out both of them. The comments are still open on Spotify but don't be shocked if they're closed because they're "toxic"
Do Jeff Sneider and John Rocha have beef with The Ringer? 🤔 During their recent weird livestream, they go after Sean Fennessey and Amanda Dobbins over ChatGPT Ebert gate before claiming that they deserve a show on The Ringer 😒
