@Dyl4nCFC@symba_24 I see you’re from Ireland.
Why do so many kids play Gaelic sports rather than football over there?
Kids play the sports that are popular and their friends also like and play. It has nothing to do with salaries of the players.
@GDGoodDays@kbanta11@markvalorian You’re looking at the outliers too.
How much do you think the 1500th highest paid soccer player in the world makes? More than $1m more likely.
The 1500th highest paid American football, basketball or baseball player probably makes less than $100k
@eaglesanalysis1@tyson_d_v@UGAGrad99@FanSince09@ChrisCillizza Go look up salaries in the English Championship (2nd division) or the Bundesliga 2.
$500-$1m salaries are common there. Isn’t like US sports where minor league salaries are worse than regular jobs.
@risingserf@jimmy_dore There have been plenty of blow outs. And go look up possession and scoring opportunities in some of those games. Might have finished 1-0 or 2-0 but that doesn’t tell the story.
@BritainDecoded_@ZackPolanski Arrests doesn’t mean convictions. Those nationalities are more likely to be young men so you’d need to compare data to a similar demographic of British people.
Data might be wrong given I can’t see a source for it.
Overall levels of crime are falling
@elonsidechick@percyishim And do you know who Warren Buffet is? He’s averaged about 20% returns per year.
There is absolutely nowhere you’re getting 15-17% picking stocks.
@elonsidechick@percyishim Inflation, GDP growth, and demographic growth was higher in the 1900s than what it will be in the next century. It is very unlikely the S&P 500 does 12% going forward. Probably more like 7-10%.
@alexanderrX_@cati1313 25k is free and 75k gets taxed at 20% if you’re on the basic rate. That’s just 15% tax.
If you also retire before the state pension kicks in you can pay no tax on taxable portion of your pension as it would count as part of your £12,270 allowance
