The people who engage with mmo's exclusively for the endgame content are core to the issue with the genre. They burn everything to get to the end game, finish it, and squeal for more content ignoring the fact that they skipped 90% of the game.

Also FFXIV is a story driven game.

I hate this because while a big part of the enjoyment of art is the final product the method of its creation should also be celebrated. “How did the artist get that specific color?” “How did the artist move their brush to get that kind of stroke” is often the best part of art.
