@Manhattva@Lovemyproxy I have a friend who is a state delegate and met him personally. He said he used to like Blake until he met him in person! He said he was quite dismissive and shallow.
@john_mortal@jaredadairbell This is exactly why so many believe it is scripture. They have felt it's spiritual power and have asked God about it. Ultimately it is the Spirit alone that can convince anyone it is true and of value. This is why I believe the Bible. This is why I believe in the Book of Mormon.
@kentbull@jonathanplumb That's just it. Joseph, Brigham, and following leaders always made it about Jesus Christ. It was never about them. They were all prophets of Jesus Christ and that would be clear to anyone who actually read their teachings. The Bible says: "By there fruits ye shall know them."
@badtothebone124@GuyInco15542744 Best response. I think we conflate modesty with sexual desire too much. The real sins we should be concerned with are lust, vanity, and unrighteous judgement. It does us no good to draw lines in the sand on inches of cloth nor to speculate on what is in other's hearts.
@davidHenkel20@LDSMormon@SteveMc74806767 Say one becomes 'saved'. What happens if that person then decides to kill someone or repeatedly break the 10 commandments? Are they still free from final judgement?
@davidHenkel20@LDSMormon@SteveMc74806767 2 Corinthians 5:10, Hebrews 12:23, Jude 1:15. All of these verses say God will judge us 'ALL' for the things we do, "saved" or not. Not seeing a contradiction here.
@ScottRoberts Confessing Jesus is your savior is a work, often considered a requirement by creedal Christians to be saved. Im LDS. We both agree some form of works are required for salvation, we just disagree on what works specifically. It is by Jesus' grace we are saved ultimately.
@davidHenkel20@LDSMormon@SteveMc74806767 Dang you really did go into it having fully drunk the poisoned well water. At least read it with a mind to grant some things or humor us temporarily. Ask yourself "maybe the BoM Jesus could be the same Jesus in the NT, what are the implications of this if true?" Etc.
