The murder of Ugandan Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei at the hands of her boyfriend, got a single line on the news this morning.
Let's make more of it here. Another beautiful and talented woman's life snuffed out by violence.

10 years ago I was still stuck in the query trenches (lost & confused). Hereโs a few things Iโve learned about writing/publishing in the past decade ๐งต
1. Resilience. Rejection is part of the job. It gets easier. Itโs not that your work isnโt good itโs that it isnโt a good fit.
We're very excited to share Life of a Book: a series of free online events designed to clarify the journey and processes of writing and publishing a book โ๏ธ ๐ โจ
It will run over five days, 13thโ17th May, covering a variety of topics.

So thrilled and humbled to be on this longlist. Congrats to all the other longlisted authors. Thanks so much to Lucy Cavendish College for this opportunity.
As we await for the longlist for the Lucy Cavendish #fiction prize, which will be released on the 17th of April, why not give one of our previous winners a read from the past five years!
Available in all bookstores near you!

Virginia Woolf took her own life 83 years ago on this day. Here is the beautiful final letter she left for her husband, my great-uncle Leonard Woolf ๐
@forthygreatpain@BBCRadio3 I would add Gardeners' World and visits to National Trust properties (any) to that list. I cried when I visited Wells Cathedral this year, I was so moved (Greg had to escort me from the building) โ so yours is a list I can relate to, Vicky. ๐
A gentle reminder that my novel, For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy On My Little Pain, about the medieval mystics Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe, will be read on Radio 4 this Saturday afternoon 2.45-4pm! ๐
