If you get a payout from Trump’s January 6 slush fund, California will tax it at 100%.
People who assault cops and overthrow democracy don’t deserve a taxpayer-funded payday.
So just to sum up. Labour win a 174 seat majority under Keir Starmer and return to power after almost a decade and a half. They find governing challenging against the backdrop of struggling public services and low growth, and make unforced errors (winter fuel, Mandelson etc). Social media conspiracies, led by Elon Musk, contribute to a toxic political climate. Nigel Farage, the architect-in-chief of Brexit (which made things harder than they needed to be) pops up with his divisive rhetoric and poorly thought through policies and… Labour MPs, egged on by the media, panic. If Andy Burnham, a man without a plan, wins a staged by-election, he likely becomes Prime Minister. He then either calls a general election and loses Labour its hard fought majority, or struggles through for a couple of years before Farage is better “prepared” to move into Number 10. Stupid doesn’t cover it.
Shocking that Burnham, who sat by and ignored the toxic antisemitism which ravaged Labour - a guy who took a cheap way out and now expects to be gifted a safe seat and handed the leadership on a plate after failing 2 leadership elections.
The Andy Burnham obsession in Labour is bizarre imho.
He was a mediocre minister. Has twice lost leadership elections. Receives an easy rise as Mayor in terms of scrutiny. And as recently as last autumn bungled a mini coup at Labour conference.
He isn’t the answer.
Andy Burnham expecting almost demanding the the position of Prime Minister of our great nation be gift wrapped for him on a plate having done none of the hard work to drag Labour from an Antisemitic mess and back into government is gross. Entitlement beyond Boris Johnson levels
Really fucking winds me up the criticism of Woltemade. The lad was more than willing to take up a defensive midfield role for the club, in a World Cup year where he could easily play himself out of a German squad place. Gordon won’t play RW for us due to his England ambitions.
Getting a free £300 if you're a pensioner on nearly the average salary (with likely significantly fewer outgoings than someone of working age) feels like a massive balls up and the income level being set far too high
If you're a pension-age couple with a combined income of just under £70,000 a year, the government will give you taxpayers' money to pay your energy bills with. If you're a family earning a fraction of that amount and struggling to keep your children warm this winter, no help with your bills for you. How it that right or fair?
A win that generations of Geordies have been waiting for.
