@TraceyR64968698 I thought I was just me being particularly humbug this year.
It’s been 5 years since I lost my lovely wife. She made Christmas special. Our two teenage boys just hangout in their rooms anyway.
A pre lit and decorated tree sounds more than acceptable. I need something similar.
Over the last 8 years of living in South London, there has been at least one copy of Hellraiser on VHS on top of the bus stop at East Street.
The most I have ever seen up there is three. No idea how they get there, no idea who regulates it. But it has always been one of my favourite things, a little bit of solitude in the big city.
But recently, for a considerable amount of time, there has been no sign of them. Removed by the council? Vandals? Who knows?
Today, I saw a fresh copy had been placed. It made me feel like all was well in the world again.
@SpitfireFilly Idk. There is something very attractive about engaging conversation over dinner with someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about a subject. Interesting and engaging is always going to be a plus for me!!
@Depheruk I’ve sent a couple of things from your list. My wife passed a couple of years ago and I’ve got a couple of boys too, and this really touched a nerve with me.
If I can help in any other way even just for a chat DM me.
Just been to a fab show from @tombracemagic at the @edfringe
Really kept my two boys 14 and 12 well engaged and chuckling about it over dinner afterwards trying to work out how the tricks were done. Great Stuff Tom!
Sorry we sacked off @2MouthedMen, but glad we did!
@gracedent@BoyGeorge I loved it too. It reminded me about the free gig they did on Christmas Day in 1977 in Huddersfield to support the striking Firefighters. Kids in the afternoon and adults in the evening. Amazing to see the original footage someone captured!

@JuliaBradbury@ITV Good luck Julia. Your post reminded me. I remember this day when my wife went through it and we took her photos before the surgery. Her mixed emotions of sadness and relief, with tentative hope for the future. Stay strong: keep up the love for your family x
@KimandaJ@climbersagainst @ifsclimbing @bouldersclimb That’s a great video, I’ve never seen it before. A couple of years ago my son completed a climb to raise money for CAC, so yes absolutely lots to reflect on.
I just packed up the last of my late wife’s clothes for collection for the #UkraineAppeal.
A quick look through the pockets of one of her coats and I found her favourite emergency rations. The are safely stowed as a little bonus for the recipient. x
