HARGEISA, Somaliland, July 24 — Ten members of parliament affiliated with the Firdhiye administration have requested amnesty from the Somaliland government and are currently in Addis Ababa awaiting approval before returning to Hargeisa, according to confirmed information obtained.
The lawmakers are seeking formal approval of their pardons prior to their arrival in Somaliland. Their return, once authorized, would mark one of the most significant political defections from the Firdhiye administration since the recent political developments in eastern Somaliland.
The reported move comes amid continued political realignments and follows a series of defections by political figures and security personnel to Somaliland-controlled areas in recent weeks.

The Mayor of #Somaliland's capital, today unveiled a 120-day development plan to be implemented across the city's districts.
The Mayor stated that a development project will be executed in every district, ensuring an equal distribution of activities across the municipality.
The Mayor announced the construction of five crucial roads that will improve the city's traffic flow, alongside two highly needed bridges. He described the construction of these bridges as "mandatory," noting that seasonal rains frequently cut off connectivity on these routes, which poses significant safety hazards if left unaddressed.
